Pyromania was my first concert!!!! I think of it as 84 but I calculate it by the year my brother graduated. I was 14, my parents paid like $90 for my ticket. Me and my best friend got them from & sat next to one of my brother's best friends ( who is my current boss). That concert was so F ING BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you remember Speed Way? I thought they rocked.
Def Leppard played Sat Night H&Dry  Bring on HB andanother off the Hign Dry album, plus on through the night.
Actually, when I saw them on Hysteria they played Sat night & bringing on the HB too

Good times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Rebel  !!! --I've seen every Def Leppard tour & the only song from High N Dry they do at all the shows is Bringing On The Heartbreak--I was at the Allentown Fair about 12 years ago & they did Wasted from OnThrough The Night --I was floored --all general admission & I got pushed to the front of the stage !!--Joe Elliott was right in front of when he sang that song & I was soproud--Wasted is the reason I got into them in the 1st place !!--but that's the only tour I heard them play it --oh they also played it on the Pyromania tour back in 1983 & I think they also did Hello America & Rock Brigade----Krokus opened for them & the night was just magical !!

HI Rebel 06,
I know that PIP is going to see them with Poison, soon I believe. Maybe she can post the setlist for you? I think I saw some 2009 setlists when I googled them earlier. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by how much they played that I really liked. I too thought it was going to be all the new stuff. You never know, they may still play a lot of older stuff, but definitely investigate before you go!

Man, I am so bummed!!!!!!!!!!!! If i'd known I would not had missed it in a million years.
I don't know what he meant except obviously their were new people. I was just fumed!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I could not believe it, it was like a knife went through my heart!!!
With my luck, I will go and they wont play anything but their new crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the info, now I can continue kicking my own ass for not investigating.
[HOT ROCKIN' METAL GODDESS] Thursday, July 09, 2009 2:01:02 PM
Hi Rebel 06!

I found the setlist from the 2005 Def Leppard show I saw. Here it is:
  1. Action
  2. Let's Get Rocked
  3. Women
  4. Foolin'
  5. Hysteria
  6. Promises
  7. No Matter What
  8. Love Bites
  9. Armageddon It
  10. Two Steps Behind
  11. Gods Of War
  12. Rock On
  13. Rocket
  14. Photograph
  15. Animal
  16. Rock Of Ages
  17. Encore:
  18. Bringin' On The Heartbreak
  19. Pour Some Sugar On Me

I was pretty happy, although I would have LOVED to have heard more from High N Dry and something from On Through the Night! I'm not sure Joe Elliot wants to come back to Michigan anytime soon after he put the Stanley Cup down upside down!! Then he just acted like it was no big deal..... I lost respect for him then. I didn't see the show about Def Leppard.... WTF does he mean it isn't fair to the new members?? What about being fair to the FANS? If you go, be prepared to cover your daughter's eyes or warn her ahead of time about the boobs and panties, etc.

Heavy metal gamers break air guitar record

Buzz up!

June 17 2:22 P.M.

At the recent 2009 Download Festival in the U.K., 440 headbangers picked up imaginary instruments and simultaneously strummed along with Motorhead's classic rocker "Ace of Spades," setting an official Guinness World Record for - what else - the Most People Simultaneously Performing Air Guitar. The previous record? A measly 318.

Air Guitar

The raddest jam

But it wasn't just a spontaneous act of group rocking. The moment was orchestrated by game maker EA as a way to promote its upcoming heavy metal action game, Brutal Legend (which also explains why all 440 rockers were wearing the exact same shirt).

Kerrang FM's Christian Stevenson, who MC'ed the ridiculous record-breaking attempt, was unsurprisingly overcome with emotion.

"That was one of the raddest jams I've ever been involved with," he said. "The crowd played their air guitars better than Eddie Van Halen! Then they destroyed 'em good and proper. Who cares, right? They can go to the air guitar shop and get another one. Sick to the infinity of sickness! I want a crowd like that at every gig I'm at. Awesometacular – air guitar world records rule!"

Made-up words aside, it probably was a sight to behold. But 440 people playing air guitar at once doesn't seem that impressive. Heck, any decent touring band could smash that by simply asking everyone at a show to air-guitar to one of their songs, although they'll apparently need to put a Guinness World Record worker bee on the guest list if they want to make it official.

Monday, June 15, 2009 marks the 365th straight day Cleveland, Ohio JUDAS PRIEST
fan Jim Bartek has listened to Priest's Nostradamus from start to finish in its
entirety. Bartek's one year listening obsession was completed early on Monday
morning at 1:46 a.m. (EST). The double-disc concept album is based on the
mysterious, world-known 16th century French prophet Nostradamus. Bartek's
initial listen came on June 16, 2008 when he first obtained a copy of the album.
He has now spent approximately 624 hours (26 days) of his life listening to the
album. There have even been some days when Bartek has listened to the entire
album multiple times so the numbers are even higher than reported. He owns all
of the various configurations of Nostradamus (vinyl, deluxe CD, regular CD) and
has been a dedicated Priest fan dating back to 1978. The first Priest album he
purchased was Sin After Sin. He has an extensive collection that includes Priest
albums, posters, patches,
buttons, magazines, etc. "I've spent a lot of money on Judas Priest over the
years", says Bartek, "but it has all been money well spent. It is not hard for
anyone to figure out who my favourite band is".

Asked why this album has made such an impact in his life, Bartek responds, "I
wish I could answer that! I don't know, it just grabs me and I enjoy listening
to it. I honestly wish I could pinpoint and give a rock solid answer but I
can't." Bartek adds "The flow of the record and the way you can just feel what
the guy (Nostradamus) was going through from the way Priest play and sing it.
Rob's [Halford] vocals tell you exactly how the guy is feeling at a particular
moment. It all just fits perfectly. I'm not tired of it yet. It's an epic record
about a very interesting subject."

Bartek goes on to add, "This is the first album that has ever intrigued me so
much both musically and vocally. The subject matter is fascinating as well. I
did not know much about the man Nostradamus before the album was released and
ended up going to the library to do research to find out more about his life."
Hard pressed when asked the question, Bartek does finally reveal 'Pestilence And
Plague' as his personal favourite track from the album, with 'Prophecy' and
'Future Of Mankind' following close behind. He makes it clear though that he
loves ALL the songs on the album and enjoys listening to them as a complete set.

Bartek did come close to ending his listening streak once last fall. "I went
fishing in a remote area back in September and we did not come in off the lake
until after 9 p.m.", recants Bartek. "By the time I got back to the cabin, it
was already after 10 p.m. I started listening to the album and finished just
before midnight, with only 15 minutes to spare. That was a close call. At
midnight, I started it up again and listened all the way through for the next
day! This experience made me run out and buy a MP3 player that I carry with me
at all times in case an emergency like this arises again".

Noisecreep has issued the following report from Amy Sciarretto:

Longevity and evolution have been the keys to JUDAS PRIEST's success.

"We have a rich history and back catalog, but we're still making contributions,
like we did last year with our double CD, Nostradamus," Judas Priest vocalist
ROB HALFORD told Noisecreep.

"It's about how good you can be at what you do. We're not trapped in some of the
fashionable, disposable aspects of certain types of popular music. None of us
expected to be here all these years later, but we're thrilled. We're indebted to
the fans and it's a wonderful thing."

While the band will spend it's summer playing the entirety of British Steel
while on tour, it's not lost on Halford and his band that they could have very
well done the same thing with Nostradamus, a concept album that is based on the
prognostications of the ancient seer, since the lyrical material lends itself to
such an endeavor.

But it'd be a risky move, since fans always want to hear the hits.

When probed about whether or not Priest would do a Nostradamus set, Halford
said, "We would love to. In fact, we jumped the gun. We anticipated doing it
towards the end of this year. It will be a massive presentation and undertaking,
but we have no time to do it the way we want to, yet. So let us do British Steel
and at the end of this tour, we'll get into production mode to celebrate the new
album. We have great ideas and we'd love to present it, but it has to be a
special event environment. Nostradamus is a metal album and has a tremendous
amount of potential to be interpreted in different ways."

Amen to that!

And quoting from the Holy Lyrics:

When the day is over,
I like to ease my mind
By jucin' up my system,
With the beat of a heavy kind
I smack a bottle open,
I crank the hi-fi high
I'm in-a seventh heaven
Ooh I can touch the sky

I would'nt be much security for you that is for sure! But I would'nt let you fall out of a folding chair! I might be fool enough to do it with you! LOL. If the summer is booked that puts Charlotte out too. I don't think alot of bands ever go to Johnson City anymore. ARGHHH!!!   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Monday, March 30, 2009 7:56:41 PM) Edited at: Monday, March 30, 2009 8:02:02 PM

Let me see if I have to make alternative plans, Chicago has always been a great market for Priest, I can't believe they would pass us by...but if they don't...I'll see what I can do about a trip to Detroit

Goodnight, DPK!!

Regarding the tour dates: since I plan to stay in Davis for the summer, it'll have to be the Concord gig for me.
