Oh, I agree completely, Turbo is by far more upbeat than Nos...and a lot of the Turbo material sounds pretty good live, as well...but I can honestly say that no Priest album has put me to sleep lol [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by hellrider 31038 from Wednesday, June 17, 2009 5:02:12 PM) | | hellrider 31038 wrote: | | well for me i look at turbo not as a metal album but as a rocker like zz top or something like that it has way more energy than the majority of nostradamus.i dont remember ever fallen asleep to it.lol | | ronhartsell wrote: | | Hey there Hellrider...I can totally understand your post...I look at Turbo and the 4 songs that I can get into as compared to the 7 or so main songs I get into off Nos and compare them like that...maybe it's not fair to do it that way, but I don't know how else to compare them...I was too old when Turbo came out for me to be able to relate to them...being married with kids at the time, I couldn't relate to songs like Parental Guidance and Private Property. I'm sure I would feel differently if I was a young teenager or something, but I've just never been able to relate to it. Over time I've learned to enjoy it more, but thanks to the invention of the CD player, it's easier to skip to the good stuff off both these releases. | | hellrider 31038 wrote: | | turbo all the way easily i do not fall asleep to it .lol |

Hey there J.D....we've had this conversation before, haven't we?? I know you can't stand Nostradamus, and that's cool I've given up on trying to change your mind Fortunately, this thread is only about these two releases and one of them is Turbo, my least favorite out of all of them, so any album will be better than Turbo for me [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. Hmm that IS a good question. Even though I don't own Turbo, neither do I own Ram It Down haha. Nostradamus has at least a couple of really great songs. Death and Visions are sensational. Prophecy and Persecution are pretty fine too. And even the title track Nostradamus is much more enjoyable than anything on Turbo. Never was into the glam thing, but I'm not exactly into all this piano and orchestra thing either. But I'd say Nostradamus. |

Hmmmm...I don't know. Both albums are on completely different sides of the "mood" spectrum, if you will. Turbo is very upbeat while Nostra. has a very serious tone. My pick between these albums will depend on the type of day I'm having, really. |

Must agree,,,Nostradamus all the way over Turbo...Turbo sits at the very bottom of my list of studio releases, just below Point of Entry, Ram it Down and Defenders of the Faith!! these three are my least fav Priest studio releases...Priest Live! is their worst live release (IMO)... Nostradamus is kick ass from start to finish. A little slow in some parts, a little opera-ee in others, but songs like Death, sands of time, pestilence and plague, exhile and Alone, and not to metnion the title track again blow Turbo away!! |
