I dig Metallica, but you can't compare them to Iron Maiden.
Metallica is faster and more aggressive, but Maiden is more heavy and melodic.

For me, Metallica are way over-hyped. They did some good stuff, but when you compare their sound to Iron Maiden, or Judas Priest, they don't have the diversity of sounds. It tends towards the monotone side of things for me. Iron Maiden, at their best, rivalled Priest in several ways, especially thematic and lyrical content. I much prefer songs about flying WWII fighter planes than telling people that I am private property.
Still prefer the Priest, but Iron Maiden are superior to Metallica, for sure.

i agree, Priest is still fucking awesome, Iron Maiden had their golden years but now they aren't as great as they used to be, Metallica as well, had their golden years, both are still good, but not the same as they used to be. But i guess i will have to say i would chose metallica over Iron Maiden

I still stand by "Rainmaker," though. Gave me a glimpse of yesteryear. Bought it on the street in México, D.F. for about a buck, I think and I DO pay for the bands I like to support. I'm not in much of a position to express an opinion here(i've already been ask to leave).
But I'll give one anyway. Somewhere in Time should be Maiden's theme for the day. that time being the 80's and
early 90's. I loved Maiden up until Poweslave(the beginning of the end). They basically have sucked since(to me).
I saw them 6 times in concert since 1981 the LAST(by choice) being in 2000. I saw them with Halford opening in Pittsburgh.
They didn't sound horrible it was Bruce Dickenson and his moronic rants. He was on stage, after Rob just plays, and talks
about how wrong it is to be gay. We don't need homosexuals and things like that. If that's not disrespect than what is.
Does he forget who took his stupid ass out on tour when they were nobodies and gave them exposure. That's how I got
hooked on them. This is the reason I started who would you kill thread. I was just hoping you guys wouldn't take it serious.
Back to my story, I also went to Cleveland for the same show. I watched Queensryche and Halford then threw the finger

I'm not going to judge a band by it's great albums or songs, I take each album as it comes. If it's awesome, excellent, if not, then so be it. People who blindly think every album a particular band does is amazing need to get a bit of perspective I think.

I was one of the biggest fans of both bands UNTIL they started to crank out what I consider crap. That was JP in the non-Rob years, IMO. I followed Halford. In my opinion Fear Of The Dark is fucking lame. The only good tracks on that album out of 12 songs 4 of them are only woth a shit: Be Quick Or Be Dead,The Fugative,Judas Be My Guide and Fear Of The Dark.Those other 8 songs to me are fucking terrible!!! Even if somebody was to fight for 2 more songs...thats still only 6 good tracks out of 12..the album sucks big time to me.I can't and never understood how people like this LP all the way through.

I don't like "From Here To Eternity" but I left that one off of the lame list of songs on this album just to give the album a break but that doesn't even save it, what about these 7 tracks:

The Apparation
Weekend Warrior
Take one off that list and you still have 6 shitty songs out of 12.Even take 2 songs off it and you still have a shitty album because of the 5 shit songs remaining.This is why I don't consider Fear Of The Dark a good album.That would be like me trying to say that Saxon's 1992 Forever Free is a good album because its got 4 songs on it that are cool and 6 songs that are a joke let alone an embarrasment,same with 1990's Solid Ball Of Rock album,its got 4 songs that are great Saxon tracks and like 6 others that are horrible,so I don't consider them good LPs and I feel the same about No Prayer For The Dying and Fear Of The Dark,put Brave New World and Dance Of Death in that category as well.
Can't believe you don't like it. I think it's a great song, something a bit different from Maiden for sure but awesome in my opinion.

In my opinion Fear Of The Dark is fucking lame. The only good tracks on that album out of 12 songs 4 of them are only woth a shit: Be Quick Or Be Dead,The Fugative,Judas Be My Guide and Fear Of The Dark.Those other 8 songs to me are fucking terrible!!! Even if somebody was to fight for 2 more songs...thats still only 6 good tracks out of 12..the album sucks big time to me.I can't and never understood how people like this LP all the way through.

Here's an opinion on 90's Maiden. No Prayer is crap, Tailgunner, Running Silent, Bring Your Daughter only good songs. Fear Of The Dark is a good album. Blaze era is musical equivalent of blowing a dog with leprosy. So in summary 10 years, one good album + 3 songs.
