this album is awsome to say the least!  JP have taken Heavey Metal music and music-craftmanship to a new level! Certainly the best album they have ever done

I like the Nostradamus album more and more.. I have listened to it maybe hundred of times already. I really think that this album is very deep, one has to pay attention to the whole story - from the beginning till the end. I realised the strngth of the album these days - I had personal problems connected with my child and the personnel in the kirdengarten and I was in a very bad mood and then I felt a desire to listen to the nostradamus album. I felt a relief - my english is to poor to explain in a good way my feelings in that moment, but I realised that one should be strong to overcome all problems in life.

LONG LIVE JUDAS PRIEST!!!!

love you all fans of JP :-)

Nostradamus contains all the essence of JP's over 30 years of experience. This album was meticulously created & every interlude is needed & used as  a guide  to the next chapter (song) as if we're reading a book or watching a movie  as Rob explained in an interview w/ BURRN! magazine for July issue in Japan.
If you're  JP fans, you know JP love trying something new for each album. Why don't we trust the band we like so much?
Glenn has repeatedly said in interviews that he is very proud of this album. Even if there're fans who don't fully accept this one, they will not regret making this album for sure. I've noticed that fans who have been bitching about this album have changed their opinions in Rob's quorum.
Nostradamus has elevated Metal into Art. Genuine master piece & JP's legacy will last eternally!

This album will go down as a masterpiece. It has not even been out 1 month. Everytime I listen to it I hear things I didn't hear the previous times. Everyday I have a different favorite song. As time goes on we will appreciate this album more and more. If we all liked it the first time we listened to it, it would probably be so simple that we would get board with it.  There are many great songs on this album and some that you would never take the CD out just to listen to the one song. But the whole of this album is much greater than any individual song. This album was well worth the wait.

Nostradamus has it's moments--not my favorite Priest album but I'll basically take anything from them at this point !!  I can say it's the best concept cd.

this album has some good stuff on it, but like angel of retribution, not their strongest. Hate to say it they seem to be running out of ideas for new stuff. be honest, when you see a band who have been about this long, you want the older stuff played dont you. i am a  priest fan but......

I want  to make things clear, I adore Judas Priest, I live for Judas,  I even constantly sware over the symbolic image of Rob leather pants or studed leather jacket(I actually do!), but.......but I really don't like this album, and I think that being a Judas Priest  doesn't mean that i should be bland at the hour of critisize his work, or praise every new album they get out like is a new painkiller or stained class,  so  this is it: this is not a good Judas Priest album, why?? lets see, Rob: great vocals, Glen and KK: awesome guitar player, Ian hill: he do a good work, Scott Travis: excellent drums man, so why this is a bad album?? because almost 90% of the song are midpaced, kinda low tune, a profuse use of synth(cut it out!), I mean a little is right but for godsake this is Judas Priest!! heavy metal in its purest form!! and I wanted like that, this album have a bland sound and not Priest sound,  it haves its moments(War, Visions, etc) but  I think this is the "hey  guys!  lets make  experimental/conceptual music just for the fun" album, this should be a one disc album, cause were many fillers songs this time, what amaze coming from a band like Priest.

I think this was unavoidable, they have to make and experimental album so they could grow musically and see what it fits really with Judas Priest music and style, I give this album a 6.5 on a 10 scale, and believes me, it hurts me to gave that pointage, I only hope next album would be better.

So this is it, now you can stone me to death for been a Judas Priest heretic,  but at least I know that I feel better(or worse, depend how you see it) for writting these here...this is my katarsis.

The album is an interpretation of the biography of Nostradamus.  One of many.  (I think Priest's version is the best, however; at least as far as my ears are concerned!) Edited at: Sunday, July 06, 2008 12:58:24 PM Edited at: Sunday, July 06, 2008 12:59:29 PM

This album is written as  a biography of the prophecies of NOSTRADAMUS

[ScottyM] Sunday, July 06, 2008 1:44:42 AM
Music, as musicians, need to evolve. Nostradamus is an evolution of thoughts, ideas, experiences that were carefully crafted and given to us to enjoy (or not). This piece needs to be experienced from start to finish. It is NOT, nor will ever be, a "radio friendly/chock full of singles" piece that people are accustomed to. If you want those, pull out British Steel, Defenders, whatever. I applaude JP for the massive balls it took to craft this , and stick by their work with the record company ('cause I'm sure it raised some eyebrows) to do this. This insures that more headbaggin' metal will come from the Priest in the future.

I couldn't agree more metaldog! I think this will be a defining moment for them and the genre. I am 42 and like you have listened from long ago. This band never ceases to amaze!

I am 46 and have been listening to Priest since the beginning.

In my opinion, a lot of "new" metal is just not that good.  Maybe because I got used to a certain sound in the 70s and 80s but currently I hear the same ol' same ol' over and over.  So, just when I thought nothing new could possibly come along, Judas Priest puts out a totally new sounding album and I LOVE it!  This is a turning point, not just for the band but for the genre of Metal.  Halford's voice is perfect, especially for a guy who is exactly ten years older than I!

Hail the Metal Gods!
