They are great songwriters--they use different techniques to every album --when you hear Def Leppard or AC/DC  to name a few you know it's them from first chord but the Priest are so versatile you never know what to expect & I can tell they've grown as musicians with each passing cd. That's why I look forward to the next Priest cd ( hopefully they're be one ) just to see what they've cooked up next .

I agree, though I think Priest was at their songwriting peak from 78-84. I mean, songs like Beyond the Realms, Savage, and the Sentinel (to name just a few) really show off their lyrical talent and creativiity. And songs like Killing Machine, Steeler, and Devil's Child really displayed some interesting and "mean" timing and melody choices and changes ("Hellrider" has some good timing/tempo changes too). I just think Priest had it all from 78-84; that's where they really displayed their musical talent, not just their "metal talent."

Glen and KK can do alot of fancy technique with their gutair playing. Some people look down on finger tapping and such. Both Glen and KK  I think are different from most guitar players because they are such great song writers as well Especially with Rob. I mean they can Shred and do all that flashy stuff but at the same time I think they have something that alot don't which is the ability to write memorable songs and melodies. I think that's what stes them apart from alot of other musicians.Opinions anyone?
