Exactly!

Thanks to all for the kind words about the letter.  Interacting here at JP.com, having had the chance to meet some of you in Vegas (listening / reading stories of encounters, or how JP has affected(?) their lives), seeing photos from meet & greets, and my own personal experiences, was the inspiration; an email from WhiskeyWoman was the motivation!

Thank you Bev...I believe we think the same way on this as well as many other fans do.  I think we feel the pain more than they do when they take a knock as well.  It's this passion for the Band and their music and for what they represent that makes all of this possible.  Without them, none of us would be here right now, none of us would have ever met...

I liked your letter in the Moments thread, and that's what it will take as they do not recognize petitions, but a letter can be sent.  Thanks for posting the address!!

I think you're on to something here.  They probably couldn't give two shakes about nominations, or subsequent honors and recognitions ... Grammy, Hall of Fame, etc

As a fan, it would mean a collective recognition of their timelessness, musicianship.  A way to hail them in the esteem we see them and cannot bestow ourselves other than through record, merchandise sales.

In my mind, these honors are a fantastic way to say "way to go guys!"  And I think, with that knowledge, they might be humbled.

It is an awesome thought Ron!

I'm of the opinion that we as fans are probably happier for Priest than they are about the nominations.

As a fan I am happy that their effort on Nosatrdamus was at least recognized.  As a 30+ year fan of the band, I believe that they have been over looked by the various media and all that goes with it since their conception.  I know that they never cared about such things, and in the grand scheme of things none of it really does matter.

I guess like any good parent, when you see that someone (something) you love makes an impression on others, I tend to smile a little and think, 'way to go guys!!'

The winners of Grammy awards don't always depicte what bands are better than others,
or what albums were the beast of the year;I mean I don't care for who's the winner,I know Judas Priest is one of the best bands and Nostradamus is great.

yes, I agree that it doesn't matter who grabs the awards, I am just happy that JP are being recognised for what they do, i don't like them because of the awards but because of their music, anyway it's nice to read and to know that they've been nominated because many people who otherwise would not have heard of them will probably listen to their music, just another proof that 'Nostradamus' opened the music of JP to more people not necessarily heavy metal fans.

just my opinion :-)

Priest has never received the accolads they derserve .  Sad !
[faetu] Thursday, December 18, 2008 11:11:47 AM
No matter who grabs those awards judas priest will always be the best band for me. Infact i hate to see the award which is overshadowed by rappers and belly shakers. U will be the best for me..

Who cares?

I loath those stupid bloody award ceremonies whether it's the Grammies, Oscars, Golden Globes, Britannia Music awards  etc

It's just a bunch of sycophantic, egostistical, back slapping, idiots pretending how wonderful everybody else is.

They're worthless. Just because someone get an award doesn't  mean  they've got any talent.

Look at the crap they've handed out awards to in the past. The Spice Girls got an Ivor Novello awards for Christ's sake.

If Priest had any sense they would tell them to shove it
The Grammies and such like are beneath them.

I'M GLAD METAL IS NOT APPRECIATED BY THE MASSES. LOOK WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE HAIR METAL BANDS IN THE 1980'S WHEN THE RECORD COMPANIES GOT A HOLD OF THEM.

PRIEST CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT WHEN THEY WANT AND THAT MAKE MOST MEMBERS OF THIS SITE VERY HAPPY.

COULD YOU IMAGINE IF PRIEST WAS ALL ABOUT LIVING AFTER MIDNINGHT AND BREAKING THE LAW. GOOD SONGS BUT WITHOUT VICTIM OF CHANGES AND GENOCIDE AND SAINTS IN HELL RIGHT ON THROUGH  LOCHNESS AND NOSTRADAMUS,  PRIEST WOULD BE JUST ANOTHER BAND. NOT THE BEST F%#KING BAND IN THE UNIVERSE.
