That sounds cool metalmaz...I've never seen AC/DC live before....they are coming to Seattle again this month and I am going to miss them again unfortunately!
But I do agree about Brian Johnson doing some classic albums. I think the 3 best LPs from Brian are "Back In Black"......."For Those About To Rock....We Salute You".....and "Black Ice" [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by metalmaz from Sunday, August 09, 2009 11:11:36 AM) | ![](1.gif) | metalmaz wrote: | | I agree. I personally have to say that Bon Scott era of AC/DC was the best,....albums like "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"...."High Voltage"....."Let There Be Rock"........"Powerage"......."Highway To Hell".....but I get sick and tired of too many people slagging Brian Johnson all the time.
This guy has done albums like "Back In Black"........"For Those About To Rock We Salute You"........."Flick Of The Switch"............."Blow Up Your Video"..........and "Black Ice"..........So even though the albums and vocalist in Bon was AC/DC at thier best, those albums with Brian Johnson were top notch AC/DC albums in thier own right.
Brian Johnson "Saved" AC/DC ....how difficult it was to replace a legend like Bon Scott and Brian Johnson did one hell of a job and is not too far off of Bon's greatness.

What a find Brian was after Bon died. They really were blessed to find him. They both had/have their place. Can't really say which I like better. I'm more familiar with the older Bon Scott songs but love all the AC/DC stuff. Hell, it might be cause my last name is Young. Actually, it's because of love metal. |

I think that essentially why ACDC is such a well known band or so famous is because it has a double legacy, all in one band. It's very rare that you can replace the singer and still be that good. Bon Scott was more Rock N' Roll, Bryan Johnson is classic to hard rock. Personally I prefer Bryan Johnson because he's one of my vocal influences (As well as Axl Rose, Rob Halford, Ozzy Osbourne & Dave Coverdale). His voice has not only the high pitch but a gritty sound to it. |

Pip, very well put!
in my opinion you cant just pick one, they both had something different to offer. but if this was picking who had better pronuciation i would go for Bon, first time i heard thunderstruck i was like "what the hell did he just say??" lol [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by pip from Friday, July 03, 2009 7:06:49 AM) | ![](1.gif) | pip wrote: | | I like them both equally--they each brought something different to ACDC--I wish Bon would've lived longer to see what else he could've done with the band --may he rest in peace
The Back In Black album was so fitting --kinda liked a tribute to Bon |

this is similar to my old thread I would go with Bon anyday. He sounded better, looked better, and was a better frontman |

Of course I go with Bon, but Brian never made me not want to see them or buy their albums...love'em both...sorry the only reason we know Brian is because of Bon's death, the band could of picked worse...hat's off to both of 'em ![](/FCKeditorNEW/editor/images/smiley/fun/halm.gif) |

Scott was a hard act to follow but I think Johnson lived up to it. I enjoy listening to both. It's like 2 great bands in one! |

Defenately Scott. It's a shame that he had to die so young...The Priest, Maiden, AC/DC were the idols of our teenage years, and the news of Bon's death made us very sad. Brian Johnson is O.K. also, but not the same quality. |

Powerage is definately my favourite album of the Bon Scott years. I LOVE THE ADLIBS BON PUT IN BETWEEN THE LYRICS. |

I GIVE HIM CREDIT. I LIKE AC/DC WITH BIRAN A LOT. ANYONE WHO GETS UP IN ANY BAND AND BECOMES AS POPULAR AS AC/DC DESERVES CEDIT. BUT BON SCOTT IS ONE OF THE GREATEST LEAD VOCALISTS EVER. HE HAD CHARACTER, CARISMA, A VERY ORIGINAL VOICE, AND IT JUST WORKED. Last comment was a bit harsh - but i remember Brian from ealy '70's in Geordie...hear him talk and u would never think that was his voice singing (kinda 'falsetto') . Bon i saw live with AC/DC in '77 and '78 (the glory years to me) - will never forget it. (Plus he was a Scotsman too....hehe) |
