Sorry Jackylone,Hellrider and I respect your love for the album as I respect "some" fans love for the Turbo album as well but Turbo is not a classic heavy metal masterpiece nor is Nostradamus in our poinions, maybe not in yours I know. I still think that they went too far with the Nostradamus album,to me it was supposed to be a heavy metal record with hints of opera, not a opera album? So with that and now hearing the Halford "Winter Songs" I'm a bit confused as to why such a "christian-like" album? Whats next? A church album for church goers? An album preaching christianity? LOL! Fuckin A man.

I would love to see it as it's conception of a play type atmosphere was meant to be. But the production costs alone mean it may never happen or it will happen in only a few more traditional theather type settings. I'd be happy if they just did it one time and filmed the production, as I doubt I live close enough to any venue that would host the live performance. LOL JD, we all know how much you love Turbo LMAO! I think this discussion show the beauty of heavy metal, that it can incite such passion and fervent discussion - so unlike modern crappy pop type shit, this sort of discussion show how much we all really LOVE and care about heavy metal! It's a life long passion that will never fade, unlike obsessions with teenybopper artists and other crap. Personally, I enjoy Turbo and Nostradamus, but they will never take the place of, say, Screaming For Vengeance, Killing Machine and Defenders of the Faith in my heart [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. I agree with Hellrider here. And with each listen of "Nostradamus" it gets "worse" to me.I'm not just saying that to spite you,it actually gets "worse" with each listen. And Judas Priest does NOT kick ass in every genre they venture into.
That is a "fan-boy" thing to say. They ventured into the big hair band glam scene with the Turbo album and it "sucked" and they "sucked" when they played it.It still "sucks". Don't make me tell my Turbo story or the entire site will come down on you!! LOL!!! They ventured into a cyber-rap orienated sound with the song "Metal Messiah" and that sucked too. Nostradamus was to me supposed to be a heavy metal album sprinkled with some "opera". Not an Opera album sprinkled with a little bit of heavy metal? They obviously went "too far" with Nostradamus for at least 90% of thier fans that tell the truth about the new record. Yes lots of fans "like it" but they don't "love it".
This next studio record by Judas Priest will be the true test and will mark a new outlook for this band. They almost "HAVE" to deliver a heavy metal masterpiece of traditional style,no fucking bullshit experimental crap, just straight forwards heavy metal...but they may take another direction into something experimental again who knows what to expect from them. This has been the only thing that Priest are not strong at...is staying consistantly "traditional" to heavy metal's roots, they tend to take things too far.
This Halford 3 album is not Judas Priest but it still leaves me scratching my head over this....I can't ingest this record because it almost reminds me of a "christian album".And thats when I am thinking "WTF Rob?" LMAO!!!! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Ageneral3 from Wednesday, October 07, 2009 9:18:53 PM)

We have had plenty of trips going into their catalogue and concerts taking care of our balls- out need to hear JP blast it, they released Nostradamus for us, if you listen to it, it gets better each time, its Rob and the boys stretching out. Give them their due. I can not wait, but the way these guys plan and plan, who knows when or where, keep they faith, JP kicks ass in any genre they venture into.

I think Judas Priest should tour the world next year on promoting the double cd album "Nostradamus". They should tour with a orchestra , have their usual great stage setup, play the entire Nostradamus double cd with a orchestra live at every tour spot. The album would be great and I know Judas Priest could add a fan concert experience that would not be forgotten. I have only seen them do "Prophecy" live from the album since it came out last year. This album would be great played live with a live orchestra with them! Please visit the Miami, Florida area with this tour! Edited at: Thursday, September 24, 2009 7:51:35 PM |
