Here goes:
One word: UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE!!!! I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST SAW THEM!!!!!!!!!
My sister and I got to Glen Helen (oops! Its San Manuel now...) a little late thanks to traffic, and a huge line, so I missed Testament. I got to my seat in time for Motörhead's set. The seat itself was pretty good. If I was allowed to bring my camera in I would have gotten some pretty decent pics. Anyway, I enjoyed Motörhead's performance (especially the drum solo). They had some pretty decent songs!! I'll have to buy their new album. I also enjoyed Heaven and Hell's performance. I loved the sing-a-long for the Heaven and Hell song!! But enough of that...on to Judas Priest.
I'll be honest....when the band played "Prophecy", I couldn't help but cry my butt off from happiness, especially on seeing Glenn IN THE FLESH!!!! AND K.K!!!!!!! AND IAN!!!!!! AND SCOTTIE!!!!!!!!! AND ROB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY WERE RIGHT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN FRONT OF ME/US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, my god... It was a dream come true...
Eat Me Alive was great!!!! And Devil's Child!!!!!!!!!! Rock Hard, Ride Free!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN!!!!!!! I couldn't believe how great Rob sounded when he sang and screamed!! Painkiller was...well...KILLER!!!!!!!!!!! I was SCREAMING the lyrics to every song on the setlist, so now my throat hurts :P. I felt sorry for the guy standing next to me. He had to deal with my screaming, jumping, crying, and yelling Glenn's name (heheh...) for the whole set. Unfortunately, neither Sinner nor Death were played.
The only thing that bugged me was this: some guy two rows in front of me started standing on his seat during "Between the Hammer and the Anvil" and stayed there throughout most of the performance. I couldn't see half the stage!!! Being the pissed off fan that I was (and probably high from second-hand smoke), I threw cigarette butts at him every chance I got. Thankfully the guy next to me offered me to switch places with him, and he gave me his binoculars during "Angel". He was cool. Thank you, dude!! Wherever you are!!!
Other than that, the show was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I hope there's some kind of bootleg of that concert available, because I'll buy it. Shoot... I want to see Judas Priest again, but in VIP seating. I wanna get a closer look at Glenn... he's so elegant on stage... . Rob was very active during the show, running from one side to another, doing the "WOAH, YEAH!!!" part with us, and encouraging us to sing "Rock Hard, Ride Free"...and he even took his leather jacket off, revealing his tattooed chest.
Ian looked wonderful, and Scott did great as well!!!!!! And since I was on Glenn's side, I couldn't see K.K very much. In the few times I saw him, he looked great!!!!!!!! Heck, they were all so active, they made the two bands before them look sluggish!!!
And there you have it...my summary on the Metal Masters concert in Devore. It was an unforgettable time for me and I hope I can experience some more Priest in the next tour. Nostradamus tour, here I come!!! Edited at: Sunday, August 31, 2008 11:11:14 AM Edited at: Sunday, August 31, 2008 11:12:52 AM |
