Watching it as I type, obviously. I absolutely loved this tour. Then again, I say that with most tours....
This was lovingly named the "where is Rob now?" tour. He once described all the mechanics of the "people lifter" that was popping him all around the stage. Kewl!
Drove the bootleggers MAD, btw. That is the fanbase that named the tour as such. I have tons of footage of cameras looking lost!

Saw PRIEST down in Atlantic City for theAOR tour and they were cops for a night, lol. We squeesed 8 people into 4 seats in the 7th row. Iwas rightin front/under GLENN TIPTON. Great show i was stone cold sober, well i had a beer or two. But i remember the whole show. Halford had the flu that night but battled through it.

I saw the Queensryche tour in Detroit. Was row 14 and saw bunches of empty seats in front of me from MORE industry bastards (heh...that is how I got my tix) and jumped into them...numerous times, in fact. Damn security kept kicking me back! LOL!
Hey, look...back on topic. I am PISSED off at those bastard security people now. Wankers!

Yeah, there is footage of Halford doing Rock in Rio I and Rock in Rio III just came out. I pre-ordered the autographed version. It is amazing. Here, front page:

Be sure to hit "play" on the video - link above. Illustrates my point exactly.

I put that dvd on for my parents and their jaws droped. I guess they thought all concerts were the same. I had to tell them different, lol. What a site though. Halford put out a dvd of his part of that show?

Yup, spelled perfectly and you got it. Look in the "latest Priest" purchase and you'll see that I am still drooling at having received Rock in Rio III from Halford just last Friday. THAT is a crowd!

Aaargh, Priest in Chile just cut off before the end of the show. Ah well. Guess I can't be TOO pissed off but he was just doing something I hadn't seen with the crowd singalong before BTL.
I CAN be pissed about the crowds in some of their vids. I mean, compare the Rising in the East DVD crowd to those in Latin America and you'd have a slight idea of what I mean. For example, in the Rising DVD, there is a guy who REALLY pisses me off!! Prolly some industry clown to be up so close and it looks like he is just standing and chewing gum! They show him a bunch of times too! HERESY, I say. I would have smacked him in the back of the head (or at least soaked him in my headbanging sweat!). While that crowd was fine, compare it with the crowd from Chile! Brazil. Absolutely NO comparison. Probably can't tape there because it is too loud. |
