I know that in the Red Sox case it was too little, too late. Lowell was out, Papi wasn't hitting well and Ellsbury didn't make the fireworks he did last year. They both had a hell of a season though and there's always next year. Still pretty heated about whether or not the Dodgers have the balls to spend real money and try to win or if they are content to be mediocre without top flite players.
