Sorry Udo, have to agree with Mr Popoff on Lochness. Stupid song, a group of 50+ men singing about a lake in Scotland where a dinosaur lives. Embarassing. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Udo S. from Wednesday, October 29, 2008 5:10:16 PM)

Martin Popoff wrote the book "Heavy Metal Painkillers" which I am enjoying at the moment. I'm almost through and today I had to read something that totally pissed me off.
He hates the song Lochness and calls it "a laughable error of misjudgement" and "an epic-sized misstep".
I love that song - oh sure, it did take me a couple of listenings until I got into it but it is a masterpiece.
During my vacation in Scotland 2005 I drove around Lochness looking into that extremely dark and deep sea while that song blasted through the car speakers. And let me tell you, it gave me such an eerie scary and sinister feeling. I mean that song describes the feeling of that place perfectly.
So Mr. Popoff, I propose that you should spend your next vacation in Inverness, enjoy a great single malt and indulge into that epic metal experience where it actually takes place...
