actualy, closer to the equator doesnt do a lot for the sunburn factor.  being near water does, elevation does, and the worst thing is snow.  seen people spring skiing, you dont notice the burn start, and you can get second degree burns by the time its done.  nasty shit.  guy I went to school with skied a day with his shirt off, had to spend the next day in hospital, his whole chest was burnt so bad it blistered and started oozing, apparently they put him on an IV.  never knew sunburn would be that dangerous.
