If your a tax exile fighting for indepence from the crown why would you accept an honour bestowed by that very crown unless you were a hypocritical prick? By the way, not criticizing his acting at all, hes done some great films. I just think he's a toilet brush of a guy. | | spapad wrote: | | He's done nothing hundreds of British Celebrities haven't done, up to and including our dear Rob, and why do you think KK and Glen had homes in Spain all these many years? To avoid the extorsionate taxes! The British Government is tax crazy! Gordon Brown would put a tax on kleenex if he could justify it! I don't blame them one bit for protecting their assests. They worked hard for them.
As for being Knighted, that is a great honor that is bestowed on so few. I feel proud the crown recognized his great accomplishments over his life time. I wish JP could be Knighted, but it is a wasted wish most likely. | | jimmyjames wrote: | | Yes he is. First off he's a tax exile from the U.K, thats why he lives in the States yet he hasn't given up his British citizenship, he wants all the benefits of being British but doesn't want to pay the tax everyone else pays. Secondly he was one of the most vocal supporters of Scottish independence from the crown, he lobbyed for a seperate Scottish parliament, which they got. He then however accepted a knighthood from the Queen, what a hypocrite. Guess he did that so he could go round telling his Hollywood buddies to call him Sir Sean from now on. Prick. | | spapad wrote: | | Ok, you have wounded me! Sean Connery is not a Prick! He's an excellent actor and deserves his fame. | | jimmyjames wrote: | | Sean Connery is a prick |
