My beef with Bon Jovi is that their first couple of albums were directly aimed at the metal audience (the lighter side of metal to be sure, but still metal), but as soon as they got some success, they not only denied their metal roots (such as they were) but went out of their way to belittle the metal audience whose support kept them afloat until they hit the big time.
So bottom line? They don't want to be reminded of their metal roots, so I'm happy to oblige, and I won't acknowledge them as a metal band. I pride myself that in 20 years of broadcasting heavy metal, I've never once played a Bon Jovi song, nor will I ever.
