Spa - yep still have my part time job, so my insurances are still covered, and I get a wee bit of funny money every fortnight  I really hope this is a foot in the door for me!
HRMG - thanks for your kind words. I think it means I will get some hours in the lab, but I am not sure yet. I'm trying to keep my chin up! Just another set back is all.

Sorry to hear that Becks. But does this mean that you will get some hours with them and therefore training as well? If so, then that is GREAT! I know it sucks right now, but a lot of times you just need that one foot in the door so you can SHOW them how great you are! Then when the next job comes up, you will be on top of the list. We have pretty much gone to that way of hiring at the hospital in our lab - hire people per diem and see how they are. When a job comes open you know exactly who you want to hire and who you DON'T (if you know what I mean!).
I was actually going to suggest you go to the labs and see if you could intern or volunteer or something. That way they could see how you work and that you train easily. We LOVE people like that  !

Morning everyone. A shit start to the day here - I got turned down from another job. It was the boss who rang me this time, not the HR guy. He said I interviewed really well etc etc but unfortunately came up against someone who already worked for them (part time or casual I think). He said he is going to keep all my details and add me to the pool of casual employees.
Still, I feel really really awful. |
