Don't get me started on Barry's "retirement!" He had a HUGE mural of himself panted onto a skyscraper right downtown. Ever see it? When he refused to play anymore, they rolled that sucker faster than anyone could believe. Sorry, but from a Detroit native, I have to quote Wiki and you'll know why I cheer so much for the Red Wings and Pistons. Even the friggin' Tigers got better for a little while. The Lions, well, we natives all just sigh. LOSE ALL 16 REGULAR SEASON GAMES IN 2008?!? FFS!!!
---------The Lions have won four NFL Championships, the last in 1957, giving the club the second-longest NFL championship drought behind the Arizona Cardinals, who last won in 1947 (as the Chicago Cardinals). The Lions have yet to qualify for the Super Bowl. The team has qualified for the playoffs only nine times in the more than 50 years since winning the 1957 championship and has won only one playoff game in that span.
The 2008 Detroit Lions became the only team in NFL history to lose all 16 regular-season games. They are only the second team to go winless without a tie (next to the 0-14 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers) since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970. | | ron h wrote: | | Those Lions were winning both games so far...at some point those high draft picks have to start paying off!! Don't feel too bad for the Lions Becks, that team has had arguably the two best running backs to ever play the game in Billy Simms and Barry Sanders...very exciting players to watch and dread opposing as a team that plays them twice each season had to put up with. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Well, I know you don't celebrate Thanksgiving there but it is a tradition to watch the Lions lose on that day. Always the fourth Thursday in November in the USA.
We'll keep you posted as to how badly we get beaten this year. | | Becks wrote: | | LMAO!!!! Awww the underdog eh? Forever the underdog by the sounds of it hehe. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Root for the Detroit Lions! BWWWAHAAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! <===if you knew the team, you'd get the joke.
(FYI, they have a history of royally sucking since I can remember). |
