OK here's the deal; just read an article about Britney Spears lip synching her "live" show in Australia recently. Now, that in and of itself is really no big surprise. When one considers that her "talent" really rests in how little she wears and the pre-pubescents and horny losers she excites, it should not shock anyone that she is not actually "singing" but I find it particularly galling that the article itself read, in part, "she is not the first 'star' to do it".. Like this somehow excuses it?!?! Worse, the article goes on to list such "A-List Talent" as Ashlee Simpson!!! STARS?!??!?!?!?!???!!?? Arrrrgggghhhh!
I suppose I should have stopped right there but it begs the question; how would WE feel if we went to a Priest gig and found out the guys were not really playing??? How long would it take an Iron Maiden fan or Metallica wannabe to storm out if they discovered that Bruce or James were not really singing??? THIS, my friends, is what I have been lamenting all these many years! People that pass for "musicians" and/or pop stars are actually nothing of the sort! Further, the so-called "music" is nothing but pre-recorded rubbish with choreographed "dance" moves. It is not "music" in the sense that actual , talented musicians are writing and playing anything of any musical value.
Yet another example of why I constantly complain about the "buying" public. They really do not care about music at all. They want to "see" their music, not hear it. For god's sake, at least KISS plays!! Pfff!!! Ashlee Simpson, indeed!
