To those of you that had Thanksgiving yesterday, I trust it was a good time! Ours was awesome. I was stuffed! Made a new dessert that absolutely rocked!!! Wonderful day, to be sure!
Thank you, JD! I appreciate your kind words. Today is my FIFTH anniversary of sobriety, indeed. Five straight years without a single drop of alcohol. I suppose I could go on about how difficult it has been but it really has not been all that hard. I mean, I realize that it is very hard and all but I am lucky in that I have an extremely strong will power and I can shut things on and off with relative ease. That is not to say that I did not suffer, because I did. I was terribly sick when I quit but I stayed with it.
I will say this; if you truly want something, you can have it. Even the things that seem so far out of reach. I was where some of you may be today. My life revolved around drinking. I worked. I paid my bills. I drank...and drank, and drank. When I finally gave it up, much of my life changed. Cannot say with certainty that it was due to sobriety but I can say that it happened.
To those of you that are drinkers I say, enjoy. Nothing wrong with the occasional drink. To those of you that may be suffering as I once suffered I say, there is hope. You can beat it if you really want to. Feel free to PM me. I am always up for a chat about this subject. Your personal confidence is always safe with me. |
