I'm actually taking a week off for my birthday this year. Got my birthday then four days later AC/DC are in town, then the day after that it's Them Crooked Vultures and then AC/DC again. It's gonna be a great birthday week. Lots of beer. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by ron h from Sunday, December 27, 2009 5:56:19 PM)

Actually JJ, I've worked for companies that have what is called "floating holidays". You got 3 of them that you can use a year for a paid day off on days of your choosing!! I don't work for one now that offers that, but the contract is up in April, we'll see...lol

Actually that's a great idea. What if people had the right to choose their holidays. For example instead of taking Good Friday off, you might choose to work and take the Indy 500 day off instead. Brilliant.

I think I'll break out some Filet Mignon on THAT day JJ!!! lol
Doesn't Memorial Day (US) open up the summer season?? Always a great day for grilling, paid day off work, Indy 500 (?)...that's a good one for me!!

You said meaningful Ron. World Vegetarian Day is on October the first. I'll be having some of those bacon and cheese burgers to celebrate that one. Not sure if the hippies have managed to get everyone a day off for it though. Probably not being hippies.

What about all the mushy holidays?? St. Valentines Day, Secretaries Day, Sweetheart Day? You're gonna piss Hallmark off!!! LOL

Hi JJ and Vail!!
Not that I NEED a lazy day, but I do enjoy the unexpected ones : )
I don't have a real tree this year, that was last year as we alternate. I usually leave the decorations up 'til New Years is over as it's depressing taking them down. Btw, when's the next meaningful holiday??
ps...I graduated from a public school as well...lol Edited at: Sunday, December 27, 2009 5:25:42 PM
