Eech. Sorry to say that I know it. We bought one Ion for my lab and hated it right away. Cheap price, yes, but cheap quality as well. It has since been "retired."
I shouldn't say any more. If you are happy with it, great. I bought a new booster for my old turntable, ran it through my stereo and to my computer. My rips are all but flawless. Know that you are limited by software. Ion sucks. You can do a firmware hack but it is difficult. Keep ripping your MP3s in the highest bitrate possible is my best suggestion.
