Point of Entry...at the time it came it was on the heels of British Steel, so I felt like I totally wasted my money at the time. Priest were getting harder and faster the last several releases and POE was a complete buzzkill by comparison. All I can remember thinking (at the time) was that I couldn't wait for the next album. Being 15 or so at the time, I was a bit rebelious and the album as a whole was a drag. I'd like to say that as the years have gone by, I now appreciate it more than then, but I don't. I like the message of Heading Out to the Highway, but have grown bored of the music itself. I can listen to the album now and enjoy it to a degree as it's Priest, but the album just drags.
Turbo...most of you (ahem) 'old-timers' here at the Board already know how I feel, but just to re-cap...at the time I was totally embarassed and thought it sucked!! I mean, I wouldn't even play it after the first listen!! The difference between Turbo and POE is that over time I have come to enjoy it...to a point!! A couple of songs still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up (YES, even to this day lol ...Parental Guidance and Private Property). When Turbo came out I was married, in the Marines and had been halfway around the world and back and I just couldn't relate to this teeny-bop type of music. As the (my) kids grew up and sampled my music, they liked Turbo for it being up-beat and catchy compared to alot of the other music...at least it was Priest (I said to myself...many many times lol). I do like the songs Locked In and Reckless and can pretty much listen to the entire CD now (with the 2 above mentioned excluded).
Classic or Crap?? My opinion is that POE is Crap and Turbo is Classic for very different reasons, but I have and will listen to both again many times before my number is called.
