...imagine Soy rooting for the US? Lol... That would be something.
Look on the bright side: over the next few weeks millions of people from 31 countries will be crying, odds are I will be among them. But not Canadians. But yeah, when it comes to politics I am as anti - American as I can possibly be, but football... Thats a different world, and all I can say is that its a pity that the American public doesnt care for it - they would have someone to root for, allright. | | Head banger wrote: | | you rooting for the USA?
seriously. they are all capitalists you know.
| | _strat_ wrote: | | Oh, Serbia is good no matter the rankings. The current A team was either a world or a European champion (or close to one of those two) in the youth divison. Anyway - definately my 2nd favourite team on the cup.
Tomorrow is a good game: England - USA. Im rooting for the Americans, and since this is the opening game of our group, so we will see who do we have to fear the most. Al Qaida said that they will bomb the match, which might not be that bad... Then us and Algerians qualify automaticaly.
And Im hoping against odds that Nigeria can beat Argentina - I cant stand Maradona.
Good luck against Slovakia on tuesday! | | Becks wrote: | | Yeah thats true, we beat Serbia in the warm ups which was awesome as LOL! And we're ranked well below them, mostly because we never get to play hardly any international games.
Well, two draws to start the tournament, Uruguay and France drew 0-0. Very interesting. | | _strat_ wrote: | | Meh, those rankings dont tell much. They include "old glory" too, thats why the Russians are still very high on the FIFA scale, but havent won anything since 1960, when theyve beaten us in the European cup finals... Anyway... My bet in the evening is Urugvay, since the French are not very good nowadays. | | Becks wrote: | | Well that was a good way to start the world cup. SA definitely challeneged Mexico and very nearly won. I would have thought the players would be a bit happier though, I know they were close to winning, but they're ranked 90th in the world (around there I think) and Mexico are 17th, and they really pushed them very well. |
