Yeah, but after a 3-hour car ride, $20.00 USD is a pretty good deal. Of course, that wasn't why my mom, her friend, and I went there on Monday in the first place. What was supposed to be a medical check-up (and buying cheap generic medicine) ended up with my mom coming back with a souvenir. Unfortunately one of her teeth had to be pulled out because of signs of periodontal disease around it. Thus, my phrase with the pic. Same dentist offered to make her a partial denture for $150. 20.00 plus the big fat plane ticket? I think I wont bother.
Besides there are places in the U.S. you can get teeth pulled for 25.00. Pulling teeth is cheep, it's saving them that is expensive. Root canal. Insurance will pay, but not until you cough up the 400.00 or more yourself to pay for it, and then wait a month or three to be reimbursed.
Do you know that Barbers ages ago used to practice teeth extraction? and blood letting. The striped pole outside a barber shop has a somewhat macabe past. The pole used to be stained with blood from blood letting practices. HA, my father would have been perfect back in those days since he is a R.N. and a certified Barbor. He chose to stick to barboring because it paid better in his established practice.
