The quiet train of addiction has been going on for years. The biggest problem is, those who are prescribed those drugs start to abuse them. Then one Dr. is not enough, they go to a new Dr. with same complaints and get more drugs. Muliple Dr.'s prescribing the same drug. Now, there's the problem. I know this to be true because I work in the healthcare industry. I have worked in private practice, and some files are flagged by the Dr. as "No more pain drugs/sleep drugs" for this person. It had become obvious to the physician that the drugs were being abused.
Dr. shopping is the biggest problem in regard to perscription drugs. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Budred from Saturday, January 08, 2011 6:22:48 AM)

Prescription pain pills and the doctors handing them out. I don't know about the rest of the world but around
here it's a freakin' epidemic. Take 50 dollars, go to a doctor and tell him something hurts. He'll start you off with
something mild, just tell him the next time that it didn't do the trick, that you need something stronger. After that
you'll be on your way to addiction. Monthly visits to your dealer, I mean doctor and your good to go. He's happy,
he's making money, your happy, even if it's chemically, and no one gets hurt. Until you die that is, then everyone's
hurt, except the doctor because there's hundreds of other idiots behind you doing the same thing. WTF!!! If law
enforcement wants to stop this they got to get the doctors under control. This shit is out of hand. I'm sorry, I had to rant.
Take care all and stay away from these f*cking pills.
