Hey Jimmie
Coming from the same area that Pantera did, I was aquainted with them( not friends) and Phil was the problem there. His ego was unbelievable! My old band used to do the same clubs as them before they were signed, and man even in the beginning he was an ass. Vinnie and Dime were that band. The damageplan is good, but not up to Pantera standards. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Sunday, February 20, 2011 4:15:17 PM)

Not really interested in Rebel Meets Rebel, again the artists aren't on the same page. That song is all over the place. Cliched lyrics too. Stupid video. I haven't really been interested in much that Dimebag and Vinnie have done since Pantera. The Hellyeah band looks like shit although I must admit I haven't listened to the Damageplan album which I just never got around to. Even though Dime is really respected I always thought Phil was the man in Pantera. The first Down album is awesome but the second and third are a bit patchy and their live album is abysmal. I get the feeling that Pantera, like Priest, are at their best when they are together, not involved in other projects. Unfortunately that's never going to happen again for those guys.

An opinion is better than ripping me. I only posted them cause I know you don't like them.
Don't know if you really want country metal or not but...
Check this out!
This one is not fucking with you.

Well I watched the whole video right through. It was ok but I don't think the bands image suits their music. It almost sounded like country metal on the chorus which is ok but the verses just sounded like indecipherable nu metal crap from the late 90s early 2000s. The video looked like it was influenced by Tim Burtons Nightmare Before Christmas with the scarecrow. The part where the guy tried to look thoughtful and meaningful as he sang towards the end of the video cracked me up because it was impossible to take seriously with that stupid costume. I think this band would be better if they were more focussed instead of taking all these elements from everywhere and trying to put them together. ie The horror movie image, the heavy nu metal riffing, the distorted rapped verses and the country metal chorus. It sounds like they aren't to sure where they want to be. I think the guys voice sounds like he could be in a good country metal band, maybe along the lines of Alabama Thunderpussy, who were awesome.
