No shit, you reckon that might be because the English settled the country? (Quoting Message by Head banger from Saturday, March 05, 2011 10:16:38 AM)

Na, my mum is from the north of England and I don't have any accent whatsoever. Lots of people down here and in Australia have parents from Britain but for some reason you don't get the accent. He was pretty legendary for his alcohol intake, that could have made him difficult to understand.

He sounds more buzzed there than normal. But even if he was young when he came here, would he not still have an inflection from being raised by his parents? I know he sounds much more high speed in some interviews and hard to understand than the others. Could be he was just plain out drunk 90% of the time. lol
Either way, I don't care. I loved him and was truly affected at the age of 15 still when he died.
They were the first band I just loved, and I was heartbroken that my parents took me on vacation to Florida instead of changing the world for me so I could go see the Highway to Hell tour in Roanoke, VA! I campaigned for it for months, but they would have none of it. Damn, if they only knew it would be the last time I got to see Bon!! HA!!! I don't think it would have changed their minds. lol
That's how teenagers think. lol

Yeah I know that but Bon moved to Aussie when he was five or six, his accent is totally Aussie. Listen to this interview. He's actually being interviewed by a Scottish guy so you can hear the difference.

Actually Jimmy, Bon is not originally from Australia, his accent still carried at bit of the brog from his homeland of Scottland, that's why sometimes when he talked you couldn't quit keep up with him in a live interview. Angus and Malcolm were born in Scottland too but came to Australia as children so they don't have that.
Biff is from the northern part of England so it would make sense his accent my have been influenced by a bit of scott as well.
As far as pitch goes, I can see where you get that from. The upper range, which bon rarely hit and held for long, does sound close.
My two cents for the day.

Check out that vid budred posted of Wheels Of Steel, sounds very similar to old AC/DC. Not just Byford even the guitaring on that particular song has a 70s AC/DCish sound to it. The obvious difference are Biffs english accent and Bons aussie accent but to me they have the same kind of voice, power etc. This is not a bad thing by the way, just something I noticed.

I've noticed Biff Byford sounds a bit like Bon Scott when he sings, not on all songs but definately on some.
