Reading all the reviews about how bad the TV coverage was by NBC here, I see that more than metalheads were upset (and also now understand your reference to "One erection" pffft. Boy band).
So they put on the Pet Shop Boys and Madness but not even a riff or two from Led Zeppelin?!? Last I saw, they were kinda influential and were from England. Just a little bit. I guess that creature of a DJ playing in a giant octopus or the guy singing the Willy Wonka song were more musically important.
Worse? I watched the rebroadcast hoping to see the ACTUAL Who and/or Ray Davies. Nope. Rebroadcast cut the ending even worse than the original! Amazing as it was all time-delayed!!
You think that they could have made better decisions...like finding someone else to direct that fiasco of a show and firing the programming heads at NBC!
Yeah same here in BC, it cut into some other show. I cant believe out of all the types of music they forgot metal. Metal originated in Britain!!! I hate how they played songs twice when they could've replaced it with some metal. Those commentators said something like "The Olympics has been so successful, absolutely no one is disappointed." I bet every metal head, every priest fan, maiden, and Sabbath fan is some what disappointed.

What was that mess of "Pinball Wizard?" Here I am thinking that the guys look really good for being about 70! Pink Floyd has ONE member there, teaser with the David Bowie montage leaving you in vain with the idea that he was going to pop out, they put The Pet Shop Boys in it but not even a NOD to metal?!? WTF? I read one review online that said that they were going to have "music for all ages and genres." Guess they missed one MAJOR genre!
Worst? We saw it on delay in the states. When the hour was up, they just say "oh yeah, and The Who" played in the aftertime show and just cut to another show! Freakin' mess of a show AND broadcast here if you ask me.
