its built in to lots of new cars now. the truck I am driving this month (which I had before and is still all set up) has that feature.
for the ignition. NO. if its a key with teath you dont want a wet lubricant. dry powered graphite. comes in a squeeze tube. just a little, put a bag down on the carpet cause any you spill will make a mess.
in fact try it on your house before you do it in the car, the exterior door wont mater so much if you spill on the step.
You got one of those high falutin' built-in deals? Mine is an old RoadyXT that I can bring into the house if I want. Problem with that one is that it will show only two things at once: station and title, band and song; station and song, etc. Eh, what the hell. I only leave it on one station anyway so it is band and song for me.
Here is one that is pissing me off lately and right up your alley, HB. You know I have a relatively new Matrix but lately the key has been jamming in the ignition. I swear, I drove to the store the other day and It just would NOT turn for about 20 minutes when trying to drive home. Finally turned but it is now a sometimes yes / no deal making me travel with two sets of keys. Shot of WD40 or 3-in-one in the ignition lock recommended? Seems like that is all it needs. Whadda ya think?

they mostly post their name instead of the song name. so when you set your radio to tell you when priest is playing, they dont. bastards
