Hey british steel.....yeah..thats all I was saying is that Motorhead is more consistant than Maiden. But don't get me wrong......I am a heavy metal fan more than a hard rock fan and even though I love Motorhead...

I prefer Iron Maiden because I love  (1980)Iron Maiden.......(1981)Killers........(1982)The Number Of The Beast.....(1983)Piece Of Mind........(1984)Powerslave....
Those albums are special to me and not that Motorhead doesn't have special albums...its just that I'm an epic heavy metal fan as well............

Songs like Phantom Of The Opera.....Prodigal Son..........Hallowed Be Thy Name......To Tame A Land.....Rime Of The Ancient Mariner..........

I don't think any Iron maiden albums are as good as thier first 5 records.  But A Matter Of Life And Death is for me...the next best record that

comes after Powerslave.      I wonder what the next Maiden album will sound like?

well c'mon, a band cant make every single album perfect, and maiden shouldve done better on some of the 90's albums, Judas my guide is another very good one on that album, maybe its one of those things where you need to listen to it more than just once you know? and holy crap wasted years is an amazing song! its one of their best performances on the somewhere back in time dvd. the chorus, the solo, the verses everything is perfect! lol that whole album is great too!
[Sinner Rider] Wednesday, July 15, 2009 11:05:23 AM
Me too! But I agree with JD.. maiden made a ton of filler.. I still listen to fear of the dark just cause that is one of  my fav tunes.. but the whole cd is kinda just a waste..

It kinda ticks me off the more I think about.. they have mucho talent. What the hell did they do with it on a few of those.. However they kept the sound the same, they were consistant with that altest.. Could have used a lot more Harris and murray action though...

I love maiden.. one of the songs that just sends chills up my spine cause its so f'in perfect is the wasted years..

God I love that song.

You have the trooper tattoed on your back!?!?!?!?!??!?! holy shit thats awesome!!

i still think  Maiden wins because they simply made better music IMO, maiden is more my style anyway thats probably why.
[Sinner Rider] Wednesday, July 15, 2009 10:52:33 AM

Hey I'm a huge maiden fan! See below!  I will admit repsect when its due however.. Motorhead wins this one..

Sorry for some reason this the only shitty picture I have of this tattoo.... Had to crop it.

Hopefully you can still tell what it is.

Hey J.D, sinner. i wouldve came on to argue yesterday but internet was down and i went to the Priest concert in cleveland! it was amazing (excuse my spelling im still a little excited)

now on topic, i dont think all the 90s albums were as good as the earlier stuff. But most people just dislike the blaze years because its not dickinson, they had some good songs but overall sucked. No prayer, was obviously not as good as seventh son or any other previous maiden record. and Fear of the dark i can only say i like 2 songs from it so far (judas my guide and Fear of the dark) those are great songs. and i liked Bruce's solo career in the 90's. lol but okay okay...i understand more now, and i can admit that motorhead is more consistent. (that was hard to admit) but i still love Iron Maiden till the day i die, motorhead is good. but i think maiden wins because the good record they put out were top notch, and better than many motorhead albums IMO.
[J.D. DIAMOND] Wednesday, July 15, 2009 4:10:13 AM

Well Maiden and Motorhead are two different styles of music as you know......

Iron Maiden plays heavy metal and Motorhead plays raw dirty rock and roll!!

Kinda like what a greasy rough biker outlaw would be listening to!! LOL

Hey Al-Fons..........I would recomend listening to the Inferno album from 2004!!!

This album kicks ass and is a perfect example of Classic Motorhead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would go as far as saying that Inferno may be Motorhead's best record!!

  1.Terminal Show
  2.Killers
  3.In The Name Of Tragedy
  4.Suicide
  5.Life's A Bitch
  6.Down On Me
  7.In The Black
  8.Fight
9.In The Year Of The Wolf
10.Keys To The Kingdom
11.Smiling Like A Killer
12.Whorehouse Blues

After typing this....I am going to go put this record on...wow what an excellent album this really is man!!!

Thanks J.D.,

I'm  not qualified to talk about Motorhead, because I haven't heard enough from them. Let me buy some Motorhead albums, by the way, please let me know which ones are OK to start with.

Here is me playing at an Iron Maiden tribute, a year ago, and ready for this year.

[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, July 14, 2009 5:21:32 PM

Hey Al-fons Blazing!!  Haven't seen ya in a while!       Hey....I also think that Brave New World was half good...they have 5 tracks that are great quality Iron Maiden but the other 5 tracks...are not as strong....

Dance Of Death I didn't like at all....but I know there must be fans who either love the album or like a few tunes on it and lable it "ok album"......

A Matter Of Life And Death I also thought was Maiden's best album since 1984 "Powerslave".....except I didn't like the opener "Different World" either......or "Benjamin Bragg".....

....but I really think the other 8 songs are quality Iron Maiden and the best since Powerslave.

These Colours Don't Run
Brighter Than A Thousand Suns
The Pilgrim
The Longest Day
Out Of The Shadows
For The Greater Good Of God
Lord Of Light
The Legacy

Just those 8 songs make up an albums worth of good Iron Maiden material in my opinion..........

Dance Of Death and Brave New World don't come close to this album at all in my opinion.

Motorhead has been extremly consistant compared to Iron Maiden

I am actually a die hard Maiden Fan, and I agree with you. The Maiden albums of the 90's suck. I like half the songs from "Brave new world",  three songs from "Dance of death", and love "A matter of life and death", except for Different world.
Saw them live in 2008, buy didn't go on 2009, because I didn't want to spend my money, hearing the same songs, that I had heard a dozen times before live.
I hope their new studio album is as good as "A matter of life and death"

HA!   Finally somebody who is a die hard Maiden fan sees what I am saying:  I too like Iron Maiden better than Motorhead because I am more of a heavy metal fan than hard rock

but Motorhead has put out album after album of great songs and again great albums for what Motorhead should be doing.   Way more consistant than Iron Maiden has.

Thats all I was saying.....and I found it pretty hard to believe that there are fans like our forum member "british steel" who find the 1990's Iron Maiden albums just as great as the

early Maiden albums....I know there are fans who like those albums and thats great but there are a bvery small percentage of them.,.

I would say that there are about 9% of Iron Maiden fans who think there was no difference in the quality of songs/albums between the early 80's albums

and the entire 90's albums by Maiden.  Just an observation, thats all.  Motorhead has never had albums in a row ...consistant albums that are under par by the fans opinions.

Alright so maybe I shouldn't have jumped on the maiden boat with out fully understanding what you are saying..

I actually just bought kiss of death off ebay mabye a few months ago... and it is just like old motorhead. In fact it was a suprising as how some songs off that ablum and Inferno had that sound...

Other then that.. There are a good 6 or 7 that I honestly don't own or have on cassette tape so I rarely ever even listen too..

LOL!!  You are correct. Maiden was less conisitant with the 90's releases. I hate to admit that..

[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, July 14, 2009 4:16:19 PM

No No Sinner.....I only wanted to hear your opinions of the "1990's" Iron Maiden albums.......and now I see your opinions.............

Iron Maiden's albums of the entire 1990s are under-par ablums and the band in the 1990's was totally ....(here is the key to this discusion)...."inconsistant".

Yes....I've noticed through the last 19 years that 99% o f true Iron Maiden fans think that the albums of the 90's are not that great of quality and 4 albums in a row of under-par albums

is not being "consistant"....

Motorhead..... I've noticed through the last 19 years that  99% of true Motorhead fans have been extremely happy with all thier releases except 1992's "March Or Die" album...........

1990 Motorhead album "1916" was a great record by Motorhead elites and then the  1992 March Or Die album I've noticed 99% of Motorhead fans tend not to like this record that much...

But then with  the next  9 straight studio albums in a row of consistancy.....you've got.....(1993) "Bastards" album,(1995) "Sacrifice"......(1996)"Overnight Sensation"....(1999) "Snake Bite Love"...

.(2000)"We Are Motorhead......(2002) "Hammered".........(2004) "Inferno".....(2006)"Kiss Of Death"...(2008)...... "Motorizer".....

All 9 awsome Motorhead records and I haven't heard one negative thing about any of these albums by fans throughout the years.....

This is why I keep saying that "Motorhead" is more "consistant" in putting out quality albums than Iron Maiden......forum member british steel disagrees and thats fine but

I am just posting what I've noticed throughout the years.........If I had to chose one band...either Iron Maiden or Motorhead...I would pick "Iron Maiden because I love old Iron Maiden.....

But I also like Motorhead and I'm a knowlegable fan of all Maiden albums and all Motorhead albums..............

And like I keep saying....Maiden is cool but Motorhead has been way way more consistant with quality records for thier fans and fan base.
