Yeah I know,I never said that Priest were more consistant at releasing studio albums than Maiden idiot. Whats lame is that it took Maiden 4 long years to release "The Final Frontier" since the 2006 A Matter Of Life And Death album. Just as lame as it will take Priest 4 years from Nostradamus to release this next album. And yeah,Saxon are more consistant at releasing studio albums than both Maiden and Priest.
And yeah I'll shell out $100.00 bucks for Priest's next album if its a killer one, thats more than what you'd do for Maiden....since you like this new Maiden I'll bet you won't even buy one copy to support the band. How about that crappy beanie boy hat and baggy pants that Bruce wears on stage,he looks like a rap artist.
Since 1990 after the release of Final Frontier Maiden will have released 7 studio albums compared to Priest's 4 studio albums since 1990. So now who's more consistant bud???? That's right, Maiden is. End of story. It took them 7 years to release Jugulator. I know it was becaues Rob Halford left but still the numbers don't lie. $100.00 bucks?? Ooooooooo, last of the big spenders!!! lol!

A consistant stream of crappy records does not make a band awesome. I'd take Priests catalogue over the last 20 years thanks, way over Maidens. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Brian_Evans from Sunday, July 18, 2010 4:37:17 PM)

But....... Painkiller destroys anything that Maiden has put out over the past 20 years! I would rather have a band that has not put out as many albums but has put out quality albums, to a band that is constantly putting out more worthless albums. Yes "quality old school metal is a rare breed" and we should be thankful we still have bands like Maiden & Priest around. Although the albums they are releasing may not be up everyones alley its still good to have these classic metal bands. Other than the Ripper Era, this is one of the rare times I'm not gonna be supportive. As far as Maiden goes, they've not received one red cent from me since the mid 80's and will not in the foreseeable future.
I'm sure it would have to be a Sony decision to release this. I know BOC is issued in the Setlist series and I don't think they're doing anything anymore.
This is just all around discouraging to me. Quality old school Metal is a rare breed anymore and it seems new music from from all our past hero's is dwindling down to nothing anymore.

I agree Ron. Halford came back in 2003 and the only thing that has been done that is elite is 2005's Angel Of Retribution. Everything else is just not interesting to me. Rising in the east, the new British Steel tour ect...is cool but I'm not going to buy anything untill the new album is released and I'll only buy it if its killer. If it is an excellent cd then I'll buy 5 copies approx. abnout $100.00 bucks I'll spend to support the band. If its another Turbo,Demolition or Nostradamus then I'll save my money and spend it on Saxon HA! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by ron h from Sunday, July 18, 2010 1:22:17 PM)

Consistantly 3 to 4 years apart. They used to released an album every 2 years up till 2000 Brave New World, then it took them 3 years to release Dance Of Death wich is the lamest Maiden album with Bruce, then it took them 3 more years to release A Matter Of Life And Death and then this September when they release The Final Frontier it will be a whoppin' 4 long years since AMOLAD was released in 2006. 4 years to release this new album? Yeah they are consistant alright...just as consistant as Judas Priest and how long it takes them to release an album. And whats up with that lame beanie rap hat Bruce wears on stage anyways? He looks like a 4th member of the Beastie Boys.He used to sport leather and studs and now he sports a beanie hat with baggy pants blah.
This reminds me of one of the things I like about Maiden, they release new albums on a very consistent basis.

I wouldn't say Greatest Hits CDs should be outlawed. Hell, without them, I wouldn't have known that Dio did solo work after having left Black Sabbath. Nah, they have a function to a certain extent. Hey, nobody's forcing anyone to buy it, so there's no reason to get upset about it, really. I'm also waiting for a new, killer album from JP, hopefully before they think about retiring.

Don't think they should be necessarily completely outlawed- I do have 'Greatest hits' CDs for a couple of classic bands where I wasn't sure where to start album wise.
But there should be a limit. Otherwise, I agree, it frustrates the fans. And frankly it is a waste of the label's time to promote stuff most people are not interested in. I suspect Sony are doing it out of a sense of desperation because between illegal downloading and the global economy they aren't seeing massive sales of any kind of music, and it is cheaper to repackage old hits that have made money before, then put the money on a new Priest album that could fly or fail. Apart from Hellrider being totally hyper? Yes - mustard pots. Seems trivial i know, but after having a crystal pot 'disappear' at xmas, i've now lost my antique Colmans's pot (with silver spoon). I actually use these - am not a collector - but i just seen what they are worth online...pisses me off 'cos all i do is use 'em when i blend my mustard.
Seriously Hellrider - i have no respect for anyone who releases several versions of a CD (remix/remaster/bonus trax etc)...this is why ppl download - not waste money on capitalist f**kers. (Just my opinion).

I know how it is to get sentimentaly attached to certain things. I'm really bad about it when it comes to cars. I cry each time I have to trade one in and it takes me a couple of weeks to start to really like the new car. At least, if they gave your boat to your sister it would still be in the family and therefore still accessible to you. That sounds like a pretty good deal. I could see how you would begin to silently wish the stolen one never turns up. lol [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by kiamat from Thursday, July 01, 2010 9:34:41 AM)

I'm feeling very bad about one thing. There's been pressure on me lately to get a newer, fast competition boat, which I've resisted because I can't face selling my beloved Vadja Challenger even though it's getting old. Now my family have suggested that if we can't trace my sister's boat, would I be willing to give it to her and get a new one? Well, I would love to do so, but at the same time its like wishing that the stolen one never gets found, which I definitely don't mean.

I just got a call from our canoe club to say that there's been a break-in and my sister's slalom kayak has been stolen along with about eight others. Can't believe it, and whats more is apparently the police haven't even taken descriptions of the boats. Which is as stupid as it was to steal them in the first place- the UK slalom circuit is small enough that if they tried to sell the boats they would be instantly recognised (nearly all good quality ones have custom paint jobs, or at least names and tel numbers marked inside), so God knows where they'll end up. Probably in police storage under months worth of red tape if they are ever traced. I'm so mad, and upset for my sister too.

They are not going after people claiming true disablity and incompascity beniftis, just pruning some of the free riders out. Still, those will go from one benefit to JSA, or long term unemployed. Labor made an entire younger generation of persons feeling they don't have to work. Your generation not included and I'm sure if your health allowed you would be up for a job. I bet your son works. VER COOL MAN.well WHEN THEY UNLEASH THIS NEXT NEW ALBUM METAL MONSTER MIGHTY PAAAAAAAAAAAAINKILLLLLLLLLLLLLLER STYLE i can see myself buying everything in sight seriouly.lol.i just get so fuc?en worked up
If they put out a studio album equal in quality as Angel Of Retribution I'll gladly support the band by buying 5 copies, approx.about $100.00 bucks no problem!!! When Angel Of Retribution was released I bought 10 copies and passed them out to friends! But I had more money 5 years ago than I have now(lol!) but yeah,I'll easily buy 5 copies of the album,it would be worth it for me personally.

Same goes for if they don't do a Nostradamus tour and do a 30 year aniversary tour for Screaming For Vengeance in 2011 they would be taking a step backwards, something the band has never done before, the British Steel aniversary was fresh and new and thats all good but to tour another 30 year old album instead of creating something new would be heartbreaking.

If it's just one or two shows, sweet as whatever. But I would very much like a new album! LOL! Who knows what will actually happen, bands talk about stuff all the time. I think if they were going to do something with Nostradamus they would have done it already, it's been 2 or so years since the album was released. Uuuummm..now just think about WHY that wouldn't work? Entrance to the hive is on the outside. Bees sleep at night and the hive is in a wall. Bug zappers work by what?? Attraction to light.
No HMRG, no epi pen. No worries, though. I wouldn't do anything without complete protection.
Thanks for the good wishes, all. To be continued...

Oh, you poor thing... pobrecito...now that's a sticky situation if I've ever seen one. My only uneducated suggestion to this problem would be to put a giant bug zapper in front of the hive entrance and then watch the fireworks from really far away.

I guarantee, holes in sheetrock are much cheaper to repair than insulation, plywood, tar-paper, repainting, refinishing, a bee-suit, smoke cans and the possible injury of falling off a ladder AND a deck were you to actually FIND the hive. HAAAAA!! BTW, they usually swarm right at the face because of the air we exhale which startles people who are not used to dealing with bees. Nope, NOBODY attacks like that from the outside even if I didn't have all those other factors save for certain circumstances (a stucco wall, for example). This isn't one of them. Coming at from the inside by a non-trained person is risky but you are at least on solid footing and wouldn't risk cutting into a power line or stud with the proper detectors which wouldn't work from the outside as the wood is too thick. Glad you liked the read too, K2M. It is a dilemma that IS the perfect storm. Tonight in as much darkness as possible (they fly right to light sources and often kill themselves by the hundreds banging themselves into windows when in a house (thus explaining why I found 30 in one day in this one-window room). Still pondering how they got INTO that room with door and windo closed, no holes in walls (they can fit through a single NAIL hole), I am thinking that the hive could be in the attic (remember...they always build from the highest point down) and came down through the ceilng fan, light or vent. A-frame house theory again. The studs could, in theory, go all the way to the top in a non-load bearing wall.

Were they bees that make paper hives, you can leave it. Nope, THEY make..duh..honey! Next, once they get in the wall, you typically have to do a "tear-out" to find the hive. No good trying to simply kill them (and I can find many an idiot to spray the opening. Like you said, without getting rid of the queen and pupae, you get nothing but a bunch of rotting drones in the wall. If you don't do a cut-out involving finding the hotspot in the drywall where they have built the honeycomb (they start high, btw), even if you can plug the gap, poison them (surprisingly, soapy water kills them) and manage to kill the queen and babies (takes about three weeks for them to hatch), you are left with untended honey in a wall. Hot day, you guessed it, it breaks free, drips down the wall, invites rodents, cockroaches, ants and anything else that immediately picks up on an unattended hive.
FINALLY, to do a tear-out, you have to rip out the inside wall and hope the queen doesn't jump between another stud which is common when she senses danger. She abandons the hive and drones and takes a ball of soldiers with her and drops to the bottom between the studs either to the left or the right. Could be either. A carpenter (hard to get one) will NOT deal with a tear-out knowing that a swarm of live bees is there. A BEE-KEEPER usually doesn't want to do a tear-out as they usually find it not worth their time, effort and hassle.

I do most of my own construction, as you can tell...
LOL!!! Now you know why I say that I now know more about bees than any non-professional should? Gotta laugh or I'll cry.
Wish me luck. If you don't hear the continuing tale tomorrow, you'll all know why. I fell through the ceiling trying to walk the joists in the dark! HAAAAA!!!!! (Quoting Message by spapad from Wednesday, May 19, 2010 4:07:26 PM)

Oh, Bob would be LUCKY to just hit a second-floor room. He could easily hit the stairs and all the way to the first! A fall is a fall, but I'd take the 8 footer over the +/-20!
Tell Flora thanks. Send her over. SHE can be the one holding the flashlight so I can see! LOL!!
OK, I must depart to bathe! My back is on fire...ah, yes. Construction can be such fun...cya later. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Wednesday, May 19, 2010 6:40:24 PM)

Where does that leave a person? Between a rock (wall..heh) and a hard place!

Umm...recall that just finished replacing a ton of my cypress-sided home and just had it painted? Remember, this is an A-frame house. Ever try to pull off cypress trying to find a hive (unable to hear it like you can from the inside, mind you. In the heat of TN)? I do most of my own construction, as you can tell...
LOL!!! Now you know why I say that I now know more about bees than any non-professional should? Gotta laugh or I'll cry.
Wish me luck. If you don't hear the continuing tale tomorrow, you'll all know why. I fell through the ceiling trying to walk the joists in the dark! HAAAAA!!!!! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Wednesday, May 19, 2010 4:07:26 PM)

The only problem is that we might not get it untill 2013 wich will be the last Judas priest studio album of thier career, the band is excruciatingly slow at recording new albums the last 20 years and for that reason we have every reason to belive that there will be only one more album from them.
If they do put out more than one more studio album I would be utterly "shocked" as by the time they would get around to recording an album after this next one, they would be in thier 70's and lets face it,once they turn 70 its over,Judas Priest will no longer be active. Holy Crap Guido! I didn't realize they built the hive that far away from the opening and you had to tear out the wall to find them. I'm sure you can find many idiots to do exactly the wrong thing to "help" you. So you pretty much have to do it yourself because no one will help. That just totally SUCKS! I really hope you can find a solution without ruining your house in the process! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Wednesday, May 19, 2010 12:15:58 PM)

If they do put out more than one more studio album I would be utterly "shocked" as by the time they would get around to recording an album after this next one, they would be in thier 70's and lets face it,once they turn 70 its over,Judas Priest will no longer be active. But there will be one more studio album and we just have to hope that its thier best work of all time!

That will be false hellrider, they will definately not be touring a Screaming For Vengeance tour in 2011/2012,if they did that they would be going backwards as musicians wich is something they pride themselves on not doing. It better not be a numbered limited edition as some I know who ordered later than me HAVE theirs and I am still without.

I don't know! Maybe they read the pre-orders backwards? From most recently ordered to older orders?? *sigh*....
I guess that means another round of British Steel for my mp3 player. Which is great, don't get me wrong. But I want to hear the live version so bad!!! [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by spapad from Wednesday, May 12, 2010 8:44:55 PM)

I probably won't have it until the 18th myself.
This sucks. It worked for Nostradamus two years ago. Why is it late now?
