NOW, I am going to be fine. Got an electric space heater kicking out the love while I bring the whole house up to a liveable temp.
I am FROM Detroit (Grosse Pointe, actually...suburb). However, I LIVE in NorthWest Tennessee. Nearest city that might actually be on the map is Paducah, Kentucky. 50 minutes to the north. I live in a small, and fairly isolated town and, my main prob, I even live outside that small town in the country. When something like this hits, they work on getting the city turned back on before they bother with us out here in the rural areas.
No worries about me, mate. How are YOU?! Missed a ton of messages but just saw your recent posts. Hope you are are on the mend. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Necroticist from Saturday, January 31, 2009 12:15:24 PM)

Oh, you MUST be joking. I'll gladly trade. Still no power, heat or water in my house which sits at a comfortable 30 degrees F. All I can do to try and keep one fireplace going as I am really worried about the birds. Means getting up to stoke the fire (bringing the room to a rosy 45 degrees) every couple of hours during the night. I'll spare you the smell of a house which has had no running water for days. Let's just say it isn't pretty.
Run on batteries here is incredible. Nary a D battery to be found.

SUCKS! The ice storm of which I have been complaining of late has finally done me in. Lost power at midnight last night and, as the whole house is electric, that means no heat, stove, OR water as I have a well system. Had to run out to freakin' Walmart at 8am this morning just to buy two gallons of water so I could soak my head to try and tame my hair (and you've all seen pictures of THAT).
Even better is getting to work to find that the water main burst leaving the building without water or bathrooms here. Oh what fun. Especially now as I sit typing in a freezing office (they shut the heat off at 4pm) to get a project off via email to someone who needs it first thing tomorrow.
Play on, folks. Back who knows when... |

| Rain-rain-rain here. Not normal at all at this time of the year. The snow is melting down fast and crashes down from the roofs in huge heavy and somewhat mushy pieces .... quite dangerous to walk around ... Oh well, at least for once everyone is looking UP instead of down. |
