I might have been hallucinating one night, but I could have sworn I heard Ricki Rachtman on the radio doing Headbanger's Ball around midnight or so-on a talk radio station.  Couldn't find it ever again, though I tried...

Anyway, you guys have to get XM radio, or hell-fill up an iPod like I'm doing.  Never run out of good music that way.
[Coyote Bongwater] Thursday, August 13, 2009 5:26:29 PM
they did have a station like that here in kansas city about 2 years ago or so but it lasted about half a year and they took it off for sports >< like they didn't already have a sports radio station when they do

Yeah the radio sucks and there will probably NEVER be a radio station that plays old school metal and not the hair bands..ect...........

In Seattle...back in 1990 there used to be a station called "Z-Rock" and they played Priest,Saxon,Iron maiden,Dio,Ozzy,Metallica(old)

Sabbath...Motorhead..and on and on but they always mixed it with hair bands glam rock. So you wouldn't get pure heavy metal......

I would be a perfect DJ......I wouldn't play the shit out of one song and I would scatter the metal songs around so that every time

you tune in....you would get "real metal"....and I would only mix in rock bands that matter like AC/DC,Motorhead,old Rainbow with Dio...ect...

All browsers (even newer ones like Google's Chrome) are virtually identical.

Like I posted before, download and install it and give it a try. It is a completely different app. Don't like it, uninstall it. On some machines I (this one, for example) I have three browers. I get all the trade mags and Firefox always wins all categories hands down. There is a reason they now dominate the browser war by a BIG margin.

how different to use is firefox from IE? I have to run IE at work, could switch to firefox at home, but I dont want to spend a long time learning (and teaching 4 others) to use it.
[guidogodoy] Friday, August 07, 2009 10:06:25 PM
I know it autoupdates but are you sure you are running the latest version of Firefox? They just came out with a new, faster version for PC.

Sorry...emergency Calvinwalk.

Well, seems ol' Guids is right, eh Vail? Funny thing. I WORK in a roomful of PCs, build them and have four in my own house. Only reason I type on a Mac is because my company buys it and I still run virtual PC! I cannot believe a youngster like you hadn't caught onto the "wave" yet. I just read a recent review of Chrome (google's new browser) and claims IT is even better than IE. Firefox has like 75% of the Windows market now in browsers. Had I the time, I would have just said to install it and try it. It does not eliminate IE. Don't like it, just uninstall it and play with that popup window all night.

Spa. To answer your question I'd need to know more about your system. How much RAM, what apps do you run in the background, etc. I'd bet you any money that you have a lot of apps running in the background that you don't need. Firefox schools IE in every speedtest. It is something else. Describe more and maybe I can help. You saw it running on my webbook, though. Wouldn't even think of running IE on such a limited machine.

[guidogodoy] Friday, August 07, 2009 8:07:50 PM
No, it isn't the site, it is your computer. Specifically, the little java applet running to the right of the bar. As the name suggests, it is a basic "runtime error." VERY common.

My fix? Stop using IE as you should have done so years ago. Firefox has always been the choice of nerds and is also free. IE is a dinosaur, bloatware and runs slower then hell. Use Firefox. Free, faster, more secure and able to customize 1000x more than IE. Download, install, import your bookmarks and, voilá, problem solved.

Lemme know.

My sugesstion would be to get a registry cleaner program. I really think you have WAY too many processes running in the start up menu.
Of course I wont suggest one, because someone smarter than me probably knows how to pick that bit of software up free, where as I paid for mine.
Also check for Malware. I got a really good malware program free.

METALMANJP,    and    MR. DAVE GENOCIDE,

I don't know either of  you,  but I know the pain of losing someone.  I'm so very sorry for your loses.
There's really nothing anyone can say  that can ease your pain right now, while it's so fresh. Just know
that there are others out here, like myself, who understand.
I lost my fiance a year ago June 9th. It was unexpected and a huge shock. The grief has been overwhelming at times.
Take this opportunity to cling to those you love who remain, and anything that honors your friends is a good thing that will
help you to still feel connected to them. Be there the best way you can for their families. And if you believe in an after life, or that
the spirit/energy/soul of a person lives on - know that they are always around you. Don't be afraid to talk to them and about them
to others.
I wish you both the strength and the depth of heart that you'll need to get through this time in your lives.
If you'd like to talk to someone who relates, you can PM me and I will respond.
Most sincerly, Caron.

It does suck that most people take certain things for granted. There are so many others out there who would kill to even HAVE a job in this economy. Your friend probably won't realize how lucky she has it until she quits that job. Unless she changes her mood, she'll figure out the truth the hard way.

Not so much pissed off as just in general not very happy. There's a person on another message board I go to who is currently complaining about her job and wants to quit and go on the benefit blah blah blah, and it's just getting me down that she is being so frivolous about having a full time job, when I am struggling to find anything at all. I wish people at times like this, when the job market is shit and what not, could learn to appreciate what they have. Some people are really struggling out there.

At least I can come home to air conditioning!! lol!   And its going to be 98 tomarrow then 85 on Friday.....I can handle the 85 but this 100 degree bullshit I hate!!

Thats ok...this shit can't last forever and you will see me in the "something making you supper happy" thread on September 1st cellebrating the summer

coming to a close!!! lol!  Not to mention....3 days later I'll have almost 2 weeks off of work paid vacation!!!

Yeah Freeze and Den1673....all we can do is live each day as positive as we possibly can....there are no guarantees in life and although we each know this,we all still get caught up in everyday stress..

...bills,money,work,ect... its unavoidable. And my condolences go out to MATALMANJP and Mr.Dave Genocide for the both of your losess of friends, that is very tough to deal with.

Positive thought, my friend!! As a Man Thinketh, so shall he be... As I said, the finality of death awaits all of us. There are no exceptions. We make the most of what we have and ignore what we do not.

I do understand the pain of a loss. It's funny but there is SO much said about "healthy" living and yet, people drop dead for no apparent reason. I am a firm believer in the old adage, "When it's your time..."  It is always painful but it is a fate that awaits each and every one of us. There are no exceptions. It can be befuddling when a healthy, vibrant person dies and yet, when an unhealthy person dies we all say, "Oh yeah. I knew that was coming..."

We all know that eating right, exercising and such is how we should live. Of course, athletes keel over too. All we can do is see the doctor a couple times a year, follow his/her advice and plug away. When your number is up, that's it...regardless .

Ditto ! I just had my 40th bday party last Saturday. My 48 year old buddy died on Monday of a heart attack ! I'm just glad I had one last good time with him. He leaves a wife and son behind, so sad.

The recent rise in death tolls this year is amazing... Esp. that in less than 2 weeks, 2 of my friends died, both with me in the Class of '09, who've just graduated this year!

The first death is (manslaughter) brought onto the mom for giving her daughter (my friend) anti-anxiety pills that weren't for her... And now my friend since Elementary school had heart problems and died the other day . . .
I'M SO SICK OF ALL THIS DEATH BULLSHIT!

defend you??
Everyone can read the fricken comments with some of your other fricken
accounts in this and in other topics!!

LOL! No I'm not loaded hellrider....but I am comfortable though!! lol!  I bring home about $3,400 a month and my mortgage on my house is only a little over $500 a month,as I've took over house payments from my mother(r.i.p.)
and she bought the house in 1971 I think....so its pretty cheap....but I live with my girlfriend and my roommate "Mike" that I've lived with for years so we all 3 split the rent and our other bills so it makes it even cheaper so I pocket all the rest of the cash!! lol!

There are things that come up left and right..ect..ect..ect...so I get low sometimes but not broke...especially since my child support dropped off last year, that is $350.00 bucks a month back in my pocket!!!! lol!

J.D., I love ya like a brother man. I also love Vail like a sister. She's called me on the carpet a couple times. At times I deserved it.
Don't worry about it man. She's a good person and an ass kickin' Priest fan. Cut my little sis some slack please.
She just gets tired of conflict. I know what your doing here, and hell knows it goes on forever. Whether the name be Roger Blade,
Hot for Love, Nick 5cents, or Freaky Metal Head it's all the same shitdisturber trying to disrupt this place.
Vail is no supporter of this fool I assure you.
Just wanted to clear my sister's name.  It hurts me to see the core members here fight. I believe Hellrider himself told you Vail is not that way.
Love to you,
Do what you must do, and know I'm behind that goal.
Spa
