No I don't J.D. However, I did purchase Live To Rock from the iTunes Store. It's not a bad song, but definitely not their best by a long shot. I need to hold off on any more music purchases so I can pay off all of the credit card debit I had to assume recently (starting over from scratch is expensive). I already have a bunch of Saxon tunes on my laptop (Denim & Leather, Princess of the Night, Motorcycle Man, Crusader, Heavy Metal Thunder, and 747 (Strangers in the Night to name a few). I'll probably search through iTunes and see what else is there.

Wow really? Are you sure its not the stereo your listening to it on? Because when I listen to it,his vocals are perfectly clear, the mix is right on how it should be..hum...not sure what to think about that one....not hearing what your hearing but its cool that you got a Saxon CD.
The band has 18 studio albums and 12 of them are jewels. The other 6 LPs...."Crusader"...the opening song is a great Saxon track by all means and album cover but the rest of the album is not that great.
Innocence Is No Excuse album.(1985)...."Rock The Nations".(1986)....and Destiny(1988) albums are not good at all,mid 80's hair band type of B.S.
1990 "Solid Ball Of Rock" has a couple of good tunes but the other half is unworthy songs....same goes for the next album 1992 "Forever Free"...half of it is good, the other half is not. Saxon's first 5 albums are good with only maybe 1 or 2 songs on each that is not(8 songs out of 10 is not bad) and Saxon's last 7 studio albums are excellent, again with maybe an exception of 1 or 2 songs that are not up to the quality as the rest of the album, but again if an album has 10 or 11 tracks on it and you don't like 2 of them, thats still an albums worth of good material. That being said,I would recommend 12 Saxon LPs to Saxon fans.
1979 'Saxon"
1980 "Wheels Of Steel"
1981 Strong Arm Of The Law"
1981" Denim & Leather"
1983 "Power & The Glory"
1995 "Dogs Of War"
1997" Unleash The Beast"
1999 "Metalhead"
2001 "Killing Ground"
2004 "Lionheart"(Saxon's best record!)
2007 "The Inner Sanctum"

2009 "Into The labyrinth" (Quoting Message by Darth_Painkiller_0870 from Monday, March 09, 2009 4:34:48 AM)

I bought my first Saxon CD over the weekend...The Inner Sanctum. Musically brilliant, but it's difficult to hear Biff's vocals over the sonic speed at which they're playing. For that reason alone, I am slightly underwhelmed by this disc. |

I definitely will J.D.! Right now I'm in the process of getting ready to move into my new apt., but I fully intend to dig deeper and expand my Saxon catalogue. Cool Darth, great to hear! You should check out "Lionheart" 2004.In my personal opinion, this is Saxon's best LP. What a gem. | | Darth_Painkiller_0870 wrote: | | Hey J.D., I listened to Inner Sanctum a couple of times now and I think it was wind noise (not to mention that I listened when I was more awake). Good CD.
| | Darth_Painkiller_0870 wrote: | | My car stereo is fine. Listened to Powerslave on the way to work this morning. Maybe wind noise is muting Biff's vocals? Time will tell as I intend to rip the CD to my iTunes this afternoon. I do have a bunch of Saxon tunes on my laptop already, and I am looking to add more. I'll have to PM you later with what I've got already. | | J.D. DIAMOND wrote: | | Wow really? Are you sure its not the stereo your listening to it on? The band has 18 studio albums and 12 of them are jewels. The other 6 LPs...."Crusader"...the opening song is a great Saxon track by all means and album cover but the rest of the album is not that great.

Just listened to the band "Freedom Call" and the track "Tears Of Taragon" and it was painful to sit through!! Yuk!! I know that Biff does some kind of narrative but I never heard it? Hum...just be glad it's not a part of "Saxon"!
