I'm sure everything will go well.. with trips like that it can be more costly to use an agent.. It all depends. One site that is really good for last minute travel.. is www.travelzoo.com
I have used that myself for hotels a few times.. it searches all the sites for you.

I truly appreciate the offer! Don't do much international travel at all!!! Travel is rather painful for me as it is. This trip was VERY easy as far as booking and transfers and whatnot. i have been to47 states 3 times and favorite places are grand canyon,and yellowstone park.gotta check it out if ya get the chance. pikes peak is insane going 10 miles an hour . i cant believe they have truck races up that 13,110 ft.mtn. or is it 14,110 ft. i forget .its like 13 miles long no gaurdrails and 1,500 to 2,000 ft. drops........
