Well,I am a Cowboy fan too,I've liked them since Aikman & co. were "1 -15" 2 years before they won the Super Bowl. But lets face it,Minnesota were just a better team last year and Romo kept making poor throws out there. If your up against a better team you know that you can't make ANY mistakes at all,if you do you lose and thats what happened to Dallas last year.I'm not sure what to think about them right now,but I guess we'll see after 8 games half way through the season.
I didn't realize how much Sidney Rice means to Favre, man without that one guy Favre seems lost. The problem is that they still had Harvin out there and he and Favre were out of rhythm, thats odd. 0 -1 isn't time to panic but if they lose to Miami the week after sunday then its time to panic. Same with Dallas,if they lose to Washington Sunday no need to panic but they have got to win the next game.Nobnody wants to start at 0-2 because that 3rd game will either start to dig you out of a hole or seal your season.

Of course I am going to agree with you J.D. I love Brett Favre. So much so, I take crap from everyone at work (see I live in Wisconsin). I don't blame the loss entirely on him but him not showing up to camp really showed yesterday. Last year, it wasn't an issue but this year it affected the team. The guys just seemed out of sinc. I do understand he has the ankle issue but.... Hopefully they will come together soon and things will work out. I will be cheering for them.
Budred: I also have Brett's rookie card. I would hang on to that if i were you. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Friday, September 10, 2010 2:53:09 PM) | | J.D. NFL begins today: Vikings at Saints, even with the return of Favre I think the Saints are too good to lose at home,so I'm betting on the Saints to win this game.Vikings will have to go 0-1 and then build all season long to try and end up with a better record than New Orleans for hopes of home field advantage. But going 0-1 isn't going to be easy, they would have to win the next 15 games to try and beat out the Saints for home field advantage. I'm not sure if the Vikings can make it to the NFC Championship game from 0-1 but we'll see. |

Being from Minnesota... Vikes can't afford to go on with Jackson, no one here can stand him. (And Childress as coach is a big No-No also...) All of us here are still waiting for the typical Favre to actually come out and say he's done, and not his agent... Other than the Vikes, they weren't the Top NFC team this year, apparenlty it's the Cowboys (!?!?!?!?!) which I cannot see happening.. And other sources say the Pack will win the NFC, we'll just have to see... Drew Brees "Madden Curse" to happen this year? Who knows... Remember, Favre wants vengeance on Brees . . . But will it even happen? (MN @ NO - 1st Reg. Season game) [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Tuesday, August 03, 2010 2:10:21 PM)

I think one of the differences as far as contact goes between Rugby and the NFL is that each offensive play in the NFL starts from a set position...that means the defense has more time to 'measure' an offensive ball handler up before contact is made...sometimes it's intantanious (contact), but more often than not the defender has the chance at a running start. 'Timing' is an important skill when throwing the ball and the receiver is focused on catching the ball and has little to no time to get into a position to protect themselves against a hit, so the hits are truly more dramatic and painful (even with protective gear). And there's a psycological impact to that as well that can disrupt a game plan. Ever hear a player being accused of having 'alligator arms'? Edited at: Tuesday, February 16, 2010 2:55:28 AM |

Often hitting guys in NFL is like shooting fish in a barrel, The defensive player is charging forward to make the hit while the attacking player is practically standing still or moving sideways. In rugby league you have the offensive and defensive lines moving towards each other at pace making for some mighty collisions and lots of injuries, it's AWESOME!!! I actually think Jim Kelly "SHOULD" be trown in with "elite" quarterbacks such as Montana,Bradshaw,Elway,Aikman,Brady because Jim took the Bills to 4 straight Super Bowls...He won 4 straight AFC Championships in a row man,I know that he and the Bills didn't win any of thier 4 Super Bowls but come on ya know, just getting there 4 times in a row is an incredible accomplishment that I believe will NEVER happen again EVER,that is very impressive and out of 4 Super Bowls they only got thier asses kicked twice because they should of won the first one had it not been for Scott Norwood's misses field goal at the end of the game and the last one they were in they were ahead of Dallas at half time but Thurman Thomas fumbled the ball 3 times in the second half resulting in 21 points for Dallas so if it were not for Thurman's fumbles I think Buffalo would of won that game.
John Elway deserves to be in this group too,he only won 2 Super Bowls back to back but he took Denver to 5 Super Bowls, the only quarterback to have played in 5 Super Bowls! But going back to Jim Kelly,to me again this is the ONLY time when I would claim a quarterback who never won a Super Bowl belongs in the elite club of Super Bowl winners because of how great Jim Kelly was. Jim Kelly was better than Peyton Manning by far. And if Peyton Manning wins another 2 Super Bowls before he is finished then he will be ranked in with the greats for sure but I really can't see him winning another Super Bowl,he's been to 2 of them ....its hard enough just getting to 2 Super Bowls let alone 3 or 4. The 6 best QBs of all time:
Joe Montana
Terry Bradshaw
John Elway
Tom Brady
Troy Aikman
Jim Kelly

spot on J.D. Calling Peyton overrated doesn't necesarily mean we are really putting him down. He's accomplished alot man. Have a super bowl win in itself means he is an Elite QB and will always be remembered as one. The jets also are going to have Kris Jenkins and Leon Washington back. If they can keep the injuries at a low, who knows. And does anybody know the Ladanian Tomilson deal? Hes getting trade or hes a free agent or something? Either way, Thomas Jones ain't too happy with the Jets at least financially so hmmm.......i know thats probably ridiculous but ohh man LT on the JETS? HAHAHA i'm sucha dreamer. |

Peyton Manning has a record 4 MVP titles and a Super Bowl championship so he must be...... very overrated!
I'm sure if he left the Colts for some reason no other teams would be interested because he's such a choke artist!

LOL! Yeah thats what I'm saying ron,Manning is very good and hes my favorite player today but he is overrated big time, hes not as good as everybody says he is at all. Now the best quarterback to ever play the game in my opinion is Joe Montana!!! And not just because he holds 4 Super Bowl rings, its everything rolled into one that he accomplished in his career, its amazing. As a nonbiased person, I thought both teams brought it to the game only at different times. First half looked like Colts would easily win and then after half time the Saints reinvented themselves in 30 minutes and through the Colts off bigtime. After that the Colts just seem to loose the momentum and make mistake after mistake at the most inoportune time. Good game! |

Well congrats to the New Orleans Saints for winning the Super Bowl fair and square,as much as I love watching Peyton Manning during the regular season this comes as no suprise at all as Peyton is a choke artist just like Brett Favre is even though they both have a super Bowl ring, they are lucky to have one.Now I think its definately official that Peyton Manning is the biggest "overrated" quarterback in the "history" of the National Football League. Yes he is good but he is not good enough to be compared to the greats like Joe Montana,Terry Bradshaw Troy Aikman and Tom Brady.

Well the Cowboys are building right now as you know,I don't think that the score indicated the real Cowboys out there,34 - 3 was not thier best effort even against Minnesota,I'm not saying they would of won that game against the Vikings but they should of been closer then they were.I think Romo kinda choked a little bit, right now as in next season they need to fight harder during the regular season to win the NFC's best record for home field advantage throughout the playoffs of course.Thats what Romo needs this early in his career is to have the crowd to fire him up.On the road is very hard to win as it is let alone Tony Romo! lol!
But if Favre comes back for what would obviously be his last season then I dunno, the Vikings are very strong if they put it together as in learn how to win games by not turning the ball over.Dallas could give the Vikings and Saints a run for thier money next season.I would say that the Cowboys are the 3rd best team in the NFC next to the Vikings and Saints. Well first off I'm glad because Philadelphia and Green Bay are eliminated from the NFC,that leaves the Saints,Vikings,Cardinals and Cowboys and I don't mind who gets in now from the NFC.
But in the ACF,I want the Colts to go to the Super Bowl,if they choke then I want to see the Jets,I'll settle with the Ravens if the Colts or Jets don't make it but as long as San Diego doen't make
it then I'll be happy! lol!! I can't stand Philip Rivers,he is very good I know but I can't stand him...fuck the Chargers!!!!
