| My son was classic...got us tickets to all the gigs at UEA (university of east anglia) when he was there...saw some good bands...idiot was on MSN one day - 'i been in the bar with all these grey-haired 'rockers' - seemed ok tho'...idiot was drinking with Hawkwind...lol. |

I hare ya,they are thrown into the heavy metal label because of how heavy they are,but yes they are rock and roll,they heaviest rock and roll we will ever hear! lol!!

| Maiden i last roadied for on the Killers tour - i pretty much lost interest in the music after Powerslave - Despite their faults Motorhead are more consistent - tip = never try to out-drink Lemmy..or that crazy ass drummer Mickey..phew! |

Lemmy has said on several occasions in interviews that Motorhead are a rock and roll band,the heaviest! Before the first track of each show Lemmy announces "We are Motorhead and we play rock and roll". And he has been saying this for over 30 years now. I agree that sometimes riffs dip into a "heavy metal" sound but really the structures of Motorhead songs are really just heavy hard rock and roll. I also have said that the "champions" of british heavy metal are Judas Priest,Saxon and Motorhead...and Motorhead was added in to replace Iron Maiden as Maiden is not a heavy metal band anymore hahaha!!!
