Lemmy has said on several occasions in interviews that Motorhead are a rock and roll band,the heaviest! Before the first track of each show Lemmy announces "We are Motorhead and we play rock and roll". And he has been saying this for over 30 years now. I agree that sometimes riffs dip into a "heavy metal" sound but really the structures of Motorhead songs are really just heavy hard rock and roll. I also have said that the "champions" of british heavy metal are Judas Priest,Saxon and Motorhead...and Motorhead was added in to replace Iron Maiden as Maiden is not a heavy metal band anymore hahaha!!!
I agree, but why do you consider Motorhead a rock band? I think that most of their stuff (recent most of all) is very metal.
The lates Maiden album is good, yeah. But I agree - its like its from a different band. No wonder they play their old stuff on concerts.
