I for one enjoyed Nostradamus. The thing that makes JP Special is, they have something for everyone that has metal running through their veins. We know JP's Albums all sound different, so what do we expect from this new album? Whatever it is that makes you love JP, there is sure to be at least a couple of tracks(or more) that you will love. I don't see why people feel the need to complain, how many other bands hang around this long still delivering decent/great music.I look forward to seeing what they serve up! |

If someone thinks that he shouldnt be excited it is totaly unacceptable im my opinion!
Judas Priest will bring a new album and its gonna crush!!!!
It will be better than Painkiller and it will be better than Hell Bent for Leather
No way that they're gonna doing a album like nostradamus again!!!! (I dont like nostradamus eighter)
Judas Priest last offering to us will be the last and the most ultimative evidence to proof all this death metal an black metal guys even all this hip hop and pop guys out there what real musik is!!!!!
Judas Priest are the fucking Metal Gods and they will always be!!
I trust in Priest
They will be as great as the were in de 1979-1990!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Welcome to the boards! To me I take things very literally, so when the word 'farewell' popped up I was devastated, but in reflecting, yes it left things open ended for new material but just no to the massive world tours. I imagine they must be incredibly taxing. I was SO happy when I heard they are writing new material, I think that's what most die hard Priest fans want, a new kick ass album! But, I really want to see them live, even just once. So my fingers are very much crossed for a NZ tour date in the mix! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by rawhead from Thursday, January 27, 2011 10:51:54 PM) | | rawhead wrote: | | I was glad to note that JP are working on new material. Obviously, this "farewell" tour has hit me in the gut very hard as it would for any stand up, die hard JP fan. I would like to pose a question to folks here in the forum. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part and I'm reading into something that's just not there but did the wording of the announcement for the "farewell" tour seem to leave the possibility of new material in the future (sans touring) open-ended? Speaking for myself, that was my interpretation but I did read an interview with Rob where he made some comments that indicated otherwise. With this announcement of "new material" though I'm thinking that maybe there's still a chance for future releases from JP (again minus touring). It probably goes without saying that new JP material and no tours is better than no new JP material at all.
That's just been something on my mind since this whole "Epitaph" business was revealed. I'd really like to know what other folks think about this.

First of all, Welcome to the board rawhead! The wording of the announcement left it up in the air whether or not it was the end of Priest or just the end of their long world tours as far as I was concerned. We all were hoping that it was just the end of the world tours but when Rob was asked in interviews if it was the end of Priest, he said he believed it was. KK was asked on the Steel Mill if they would be still writing more music and he didn't answer the question. I think we kind of figured at that point that it was the end because if there was another release to come, wouldn't they have announced that along with the farewell tour to soften the blow? I know that would have helped me take the news a bit better. Maybe this was the plan all along and they just didn't come out and say it until now. Or perhaps they got together to discuss the farewell tour and they were inspired to write some new material. Whatever the case, I'm absolutely thrilled to hear that they are writing new material! And Glenn posted on his site that it isn't the end of Priest, just the end of world tours - so there may be more than one album to come, you never know.
Cheers! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by rawhead from Thursday, January 27, 2011 10:51:54 PM) | | rawhead wrote: | | I was glad to note that JP are working on new material. I think that the "'issue'" for some people with Nostradamus is that it goes in a direction that was not expected, very dark and depressing, and with the timing of Priest announcing their final tour, it feels like something has ended....it's as if that ''in your face grinding never let them get you down fight 'til the end with every fibre of your being'' attitude kind of melted into a sad reflection of what doom lies before us that we cannot change...I admit I thought it was a bit of a departure for JP, but the more I listen the more it pulls me in, even though it is a dark place that Priest never took me too yet...but HOT DAMN it still ROCKS!!! Anything they ever do still ECLIPSES ALL OTHER MUSIC!!!! It's just that it left us with a sense of something coming to its close. We just don't want the ride to ever end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ALL HAIL THE PRIEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I just want to thank you Hellrider for ALWAYS staying positive, even when it looked pretty grim. You kept the metal faith alive! Your posts always made me smile and raised my spirits because I knew that there was someone else out there that also believed the Priest would be back! On this last tour, we are going to hit every show we can and Toronto is on our list! I hope to rock out with you at least one time to the almighty Priest!
YOU ROCK HELLRIDER!!! One day closer to the release of the new Judas Priest masterpiece! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by hellrider 31038 from Thursday, January 27, 2011 6:19:42 PM) | | hellrider 31038 wrote: | | AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I know a lot of people didn't like "Nostradamus" and I'll admit at first I wasn't sure, but after giving it a few listens I realized how amazing that CD is. I mean if you think about it, Priest went in a slightly different direction with a concept album which is a pretty brave thing for a band to do. Just the fact I had to really give it a few good listens made me aware of just how complex this CD is. I think that what they learned by doing a project like "Nostradamus" will only enhance what's to come in the future and I'm pretty excited about that! |

I know it's hard for you to be excited after being let down. But sometimes you just have to believe. I believe in Priest and the magic that happens when Glenn, Rob and KK sit down together and write. I think they got Nostra out of their systems and will return to what they do best. I certainly am craving a HEAVY METAL MONSTER because it's been way too long since we got that from them. I think that's what we will get this time around. But I totally agree with you - Priest show us what you got because I know you still have a lot left in the tank!!! Show the world that Priest is THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD!!

After Nostradamus and then Halford's new album, I'm afraid to get too enthusiastic about anything they're doing. This is the "first"
time since I've been listening to Priest that word of a new album fails to excite me. It's kind of strange. I want a new Priest
album so bad yet I'm so fearful that it will suck I'm losing any enthusiasm for it. C'mon Priest, pump me back up, I gotta have a
"Judas Priest style heavy metal" album!!! It doesn't have to sound like old or new Priest, it just has to be f*ckin' heavy.
