For all who find the last post hard to read....you're right. Just highlight the text, as if you are going to copy and paste, and you'll be able to read the post text without all that bright green background. IF only JP Management was like that... instead of all the bright green cash that is blinding them...they could make a settlement to meet KK 's concerns and join the band together again without worring about the loss of GREEN. And of course thank RICHie for his time, pay his thirty pieces of silver, and take down the nice photo with him and his guitar. EPiTAPH must include KK. |

MY FIRST CHANCE TO SEE JP ON STAGE,AND ONE OF YOU WILL NOT BE THERE!LUCKY FOR THE OTHER ONE WHO SHALL PLAY INSTEAD.ROB CAME BACK TO THE BAND.AND NOW WE SHALL MISS DOWNING'S GUITAR.I HOPE HE WILL CONTINUE WITH SOLO-RECORDS.ROB HALFORD CAN'T QUIT SINGING.AFTER ALL HE IS A SINGER.DOWNING IS A GUITARPLAYER,AND CAN'T STOP.PASSION IS LIFE.ONCE MUSICIAN,ALWAYS MUSICIAN.BUT I NEED TO WATCH JP IN NORWAY THIS TIME.I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR AGE AND THE RESULTS OF NOSTRADAMUS.I LOVE THIS ALBUM LIKE I LOVE BRITISH STEEL.THEY ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ALBUMS EVER MADE.I DON'T WANT DOWNING TO QUIT.NOT YET.BUT I GUESS IT'S TOO LATE FOR THAT.

Well man you answered the wrong question but I must say I was very impressed with what you wrote.
Completely honest, well thought out and very well written. I agree with most of what you say except I'm
glad they kept going after Painkiller. I liked Ripper and live I thought he was great. I also think some of
their heaviest music was on those two albums. I wish Jugulator was produced better and Demolition
could have dropped a few songs but overall I liked them. On the Demolition tour Ripper was much better live
and (in my opinion) did a few songs better than Rob (currently) can. Diamonds and Rust is one.
When Rob came back of course I was happy.
I liked Angel of Retribution but from that point on I have been disapointed with Priest. I despise
Nostradamus. I loved that tour (because) they only did 2 songs from the Cd and still sounded great live.
I also liked the British Steel tour because for me it was a nastalgia thing. Since then I've just wanted a
good album but they've taken so long and with K.K. gone their time may be up. I'll go to the last tour if it
turns out to be so just to see them one last time. I'll reserve judgement on a new album until I hear it. Otherwise I
think you're completely right. It is turning into a cash grab. Too many live albums even though I love Live in
London. I agree with everything you said about Rob also. Dude you're a smart person and most of my lessons
here have come from you. My only problem with you is that you're so antagonistic. You do it to multiple people.
You pissed me off beyond belief but when it's all said and done I dig you because you're so straight forward and
you generally tell the truth (although sometimes with exaggeration), and you don't back down. Oh' and the
question was why do you stay here?

Priest were my favourite band for ages however it seems that everything they are doing lately is designed to generate as much money as possible for as little input as the band can muster. They are cashing in on their fans blantantly. If they had let it die in 91 they would have left an awesome legacy, despite a few hiccups ( POE, Turbo ) but they would have ended with a bang, Painkiller. Since they've got back togther ( to cash in on metals resurgence ) they've released one pretty good album, AOR and one crap album, Nostra. On the Nostra tour they played two songs from the album and a bunch of greatest hits. WTF? Then they blabbered on about a new and groundbreaking Nostra concept tour which never eventuated for two reasons 1) No one bought the album cos it was shit and 2) The whole idea of it is fucking stupid and everyone pulled their heads out of their asses and realised that in time. Idea shelved, they quickly shove out British Steel for the third time and tour that again, thus touring for the second time without showcasing a new album. Then instead of getting on with another album they announce a farewell tour in which they are going to be playing a selection of their greatest hits and old songs they haven't played in years, a chance for the fans to say goodbye and give them some farewell money and a chance for them to make more money without doing anything. Now they're talking about a new album and new guitarist and "Priest will carry on etc". So why the fuck a farewell tour? Get to work on the album and tour next year when it's out. Why are they doing a farewell tour if they are not fucking off? This on top of Halford re releasing and remastering and all the old Fight and Halford stuff, an album of Christmas Carols and that shitty Halford 4 album. And don't forget that shabby excuse of a live album Touch Of Evil Priest released. It's a whole bevy of stuff that stinks of flogging every last cent out of things and providing nothing in return. And this is coming from someone who liked the band enough to spend $350 Canadian to meet them three years ago. I could go on with my thoughts on the reasons for KKs departure but I won't at this stage. I hope this answers your questions as to why I give them the bash when I feel they deserve it. I'm not going to blindly love the guys in the band and tolerate what they do just because I like a lot of their music.

Budred wrote: |

Honestly, I partly agree with you.(...the only decent thing part anyway.)
I have a question. You bash them quite a bit. You think they are a joke and
you feel like they don't respect you.
Question being, What keeps you here?
And no I'm not attempting another back and forth with you I'm just curious to see your answer.

jimmyjames wrote: |

Personally I just think things are getting beyond a joke with them. The only decent thing they've done since Halford came back was AOR and I just see a general lack of respect for their fans.

Let's see, rip the Priest, close the mind, and don't give it a chance
or move on, open the mind, and listen to what the fuck they sound like before commenting.
Just living life for the last 45 years tells me that shit happens, things change and usually you can't do a thing about it.
K.K. is done, Priest rolls on, and none of us know how good or bad it will be. I can't help but laugh at how narrow minded
some seem to be. No one
has to like the new line-up but I'll listen to it before I bash them. I'm curious, does anyone here want to retire some day
and do you really give a rat's ass what anyone else thinks? It's your life and your decision and you'll make it based on how you
feel about it.
K.K. may be a metal machine but under it he's a human like the rest of us. Let the man have peace and ride into
the sunset if that's what he wants. He doesn't have to make us happy, he has to make himself happy. More angry posts please
because they really are becoming funny. Sort of entertaining actually. |

As for the whole KK being gone and Richie Faulkner playing dual to Glenn. I simply don't see dual there. I'm disappointed a different selection wasn't made. To me, his style is so close to Glenn's there leaves no interest. But that's my personal interpretation of what a JP twin axe attack should play like. Don't know how better else to describe it.
When I heard Rob left, I bought Jugulator "to support the band". Wasn't 'til I watched Ripper do covers of old material that his style grew on me. When Rob & the band reunited the synergy was there. The JP magic was in the air! No matter the strife backstage, in each personal camp.
You're right. Our support of this tour is important. Fans should be able to come here and express their opinions without feeling their active status will be affected if the core group allienates them because they ("true fans", new / old) express their opinions differently.
The trolls ALWAYS rat themselves out. For some reason they continue to get attention?! |

I heard the JP management is classifying Troll staus on this web site as posers that have over 5000 posts or have RICHie RICH as their preferred preference over KK for organ donation on their learners permit to drive a tricycle or class C big wheel.
Additional poser note... Nostrdamus is a brilliant masterpiece. POE is classic priest that gave us ...Hot Rockin' and Heading out to the Highway. Speaking of highway...KK will return and Epitaph Tour will start when the wha wha bar meets the road... now your turn posers. |

We'll work in shifts Spa ; ) Remember, I tended bar for years. It's how I met some of the folks I've met along the way, you know that dear old friend \m/ Alas, that has long sense fallen by the wayside. Back to margaritas. Ron got me a new set of bar glassware for my birthday. First I was thinkin', "how thoughtful"? Then I remembered the tour! Couldn't possibly be a motive ... do ya' think?! |

[Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Budred from Wednesday, May 11, 2011 4:13:30 AM) | | Budred wrote: | | Honestly, I partly agree with you.(...the only decent thing part anyway.)
I have a question. You bash them quite a bit. You think they are a joke and
you feel like they don't respect you.
Question being, What keeps you here?
And no I'm not attempting another back and forth with you I'm just curious to see your answer. | | jimmyjames wrote: | | Personally I just think things are getting beyond a joke with them. The only decent thing they've done since Halford came back was AOR and I just see a general lack of respect for their fans. | | Budred wrote: | | Let's see, rip the Priest, close the mind, and don't give it a chance
or move on, open the mind, and listen to what the fuck they sound like before commenting.
