All of the eighties bands had way more talent, skills and women than me and you guys combined. The videos may have been corny, but they either make you feel bad-ass or you just feel good watching them. I would rather have that party bad-ass feel to life than depression and killing yourself.
[Craig Wagenhoffer] Saturday, May 08, 2010 7:56:51 AM
What the fuck is wrong with this generation? I mean, what's better, depression and all that sad shit or hot girls, sex, great rock 'n roll, motorcycles, etc...? Rock 'n roll and metal should be fun, it should not make you cut your wrists. WTF?

I'm not a hater, but fuck grunge and fuck all those new school metal bands.

SAXON - BATTALIONS OF STEEL -2009 Into The Labyrinth LP

Judas Priest are my favorite band of all time and they deserve to be titled THE METAL GODS  as well and rightfully.Tracks like this shows that Saxon are the most underrated band in the history of heavy metal and rock with consistantcy of quality albums.

Saxon -Suzie Hold On -1980 Wheels Of Steel album

This track is from Saxon's second album Wheels Of Steel,9 songs on the album and this is the only embarrasing track and they made a video out of it! lol! I mean, this song sucks and is painful to watch,it spanks of cheese and hurts to listen to let alone watch yet the rest of the Wheels Of Steel album is classic "NWOBHM"/rock with quality songs......except for the "See The Light Shining" song, that one fuckin blows but its just a bad track,Suzie Hold On is a nightmare lol

Still,7 songs out of 9 is a good album. I won't defend Saxon's shit era yeah Saxon went through a period where they sold out from 1984 to 1989 and Biff admits it,but from 1995 till now they have come around full circle with 7 studio albums of quality traditional british heavy metal/rock far beyond that of wich Iron Maiden is capable of doing,Saxon are light years ahead of Iron Maiden in good song writting these last 20 years.

(lol!) HAHA,is this post supposed to upset me? Or try and make me come to the rescue to defend Saxon? HAHA give me a break.Try taking a scroll through the Saxon thread and learn what I've posted about thier hair band era. What the real funny thing here is that your just now learning of this era of Saxon. That shows how much you really know about music, obviously not much.

And yes, even with 6 shitty albums out of 18,Saxon's first 5 albums and thier last 7 albums blows the snot out of every band you've posted hands down. You really don't know that much about music dude.

The thing about Tigertailz is that they're taking the piss. It's completely overblown and over the top and done for a laugh. Sort of like Steel Panther. These faggy fuckin poser bands like Danger Danger actually believe they're gods gift. It's like that other shit British band The Darkness that were big a few years ago. They just go to the absloute extreme to the extent of parody. When you look at Tigertailz they look an absolute mess whereas these cock loving bands like Danger Danger have spent hours on their perms and poses in an attempt to look cool, which they don't. You can keep Danger Danger as well Craig. Sorry but they blow.

Wow, just...wow, I mean I'm not a hardcore fan of the genre, I just like a cople of bands, just in case I didn't left that clear, but anyway I actually never listened to that particulary song, I guess cause what I have listened from Tigertailz was just a couple of songs some friend of mine pass me, like a sort of "compilation", I guess he omited the ballads knowing I'm not a big fan,oh now I'm so gonna  beat up that motherfucker for this hahaha,  plus I actually never seen a video of them, I'm not a music video person THAT much(I stick more to listen the music)and now....well, maybe I was wrong about Tigetailz being sleaze, maybe  because I didn't seen the whole picture, just a frame, but I stick it to the other bands, I still like Dangerous Toys, Ski Row, and early Motley Crue, If I have to make a proportion of type of music I listen: 80%metal(heavy,thrash,death,black,etc), 15%hardcore/crust punk, 5% miscelaneous(sleaze rock, hard rock, salsa, boleros, etc).

No, I don't like that band Tigertailz. That British glam shit sucks dude! LOL! I think there's a huge difference between a band like Tigertailz and a band like Heavy Bones. That Tigertailz song is a generic, light-weight pop song, while that Heavy Bones song I posted is filled with heavy riffs, awesome drumming and a state of the art guitar solo. Just take a listen.

Here's a video of another band you might like. Eat your heart out, J.D. Diamond:

Yes, some of those so-called "hair metal" bands sucked big time, but others were nothing short of fantastic! Let's take this band for example:

This is fucking great: a massive groove, an incredible guitar solo and stellar musicianship. Shoot me, but I could listen to stuff like this all day long!

Surely the tour was a flop because everyone had started getting into grunge at that point. Probably the reason they were dropped as well. One of the greatest achievements of the grunge era was that it killed the hair metal scene. The worst thing about the grunge era was that it spawned the white people with dreads look and middle class kids with tribal tattoos.

OH do I agree!! As I have previously stated, Dangerous Toys were literally laughed off the stage when they opened for Priest / Alice in Detroit. To each his own but I'll keep mine.

"Unfortunately, neither song charted as a hit, the album sold poorly, and the 1991 summer tour with Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, and Motörhead folded after 10 weeks as the summer's biggest flop. Soon after, the band was dropped from CBS"

To be completely honest I used to think the same way,I used to put bands like Bon Jovi and Dangerous Toys in the same bag/label(glam/pussy rock bands),  but then I said to myself: how bad they can be? I give 'em a listen, some of them were popy crap but some others actually has an edgy sound(Skid Row, early Motley Crue, Tigertailz and Dangerous Toys), most of the bands  labelled as sleaze rock were bands doing a more edgy  and less panzy hard rock, they had  some ballads but the edgy sound was predominant and the lyrics were more about street/drinking life than lovey dovey crap,  in contrast with the Cinderella, Poison and Bon Jovi crap glam/teen girl music, that's why I like the sleaze rock bands I listen,I have no mixed feeling with othrer more extre music I listenI mean  I have no problem listen Dangerous Toys's "Hellacious Acres" and then  later give a listen to Deströyer 666 "Phoenix  Rising" or Vomitor's  "Bleeding The Priest", matter of tastes I guess.

Oh, by the way, as curious data  the  Dangerous Toys vocalist  was also vocalist of the technical thrash metal band Watchtower, plus the guy is also a big Priest fan, this is an ecerpt form an interview:

FIB MUSIC:  I was privileged to catch a performance of Sad Wings, your Judas Priest tribute band, at a show in Dallas. You guys seemed to have a lot of fun with that. What's it like to do that project?

JM:  I love Priest. I have toured with Priest, I can die a happy man being able to say that. The Sad Wings gig is just alot of fun, me and some friends came up with the idea to form the tribute after seeing a few tributes around the Texas area having so much fun, it was a no brainer that we needed a Priest tribute in Austin. There is one in Dallas as you know called Judas Rising, they have been real cool and we are playing with them June 20th in Dallas.

PD: If you are interested, give 'em a try:

Just thinking about Aeroplanos post. Every Mothers Nightmare were a shit wannabe Skid Row. I went to University with a guy that liked them. This song used to drive me fucking mad. I hated it. It's like a poor mans version of I Remember You. It's called Love Can Make You Blind, I think it's about masturbating. When I found it on youtube I noticed it has only been viewed 21 times. I'm not upset or else, just making the point that many times people call crappy "metal" bands that actually are not metal at all, calling them crappy for something they never intendend to sound like(Metal), for example LA Guns, for me is one good sleaze rock band(sleaze rock is an  actual music genre,ex: Dangerous Toys, G n' R, Nasty Idols,Every Mother's Nightmare, Skid Row,etc) , of course if you put hem the label of metal someone could say:"that's metal???!! if it is, then is crappy metal!!", you see what am talking about??, on the other side I find this thread kinda fun, If people want to put band that aren't metal but are related in some sort of way to the genre, that's ok to me, sorry for my comments but I think a little of controversy is good to put some spice in topics haha.

PD: I find Tokyo Blade pretty metal to me, their firstwo albums are vey NWOBHM-esque,  their later work, of course, slowly became more comercial hard rock/glam metal/glam rock oriented, like Saxon or Celtic Frost have done once in their careers.
[ron h] Tuesday, May 04, 2010 12:38:11 PM
Well, if you're refering to my posts, I'll say that I make posts in this thread by bands that are / were typically Metal bands OR other artists who are covering Metal songs...not just crappy Metal by crappy Metal bands because that list would go on and on and on and on and on....

I find nothing wrong with having a little fun with this thread.  I didn't mean to confuse or upset you or anyone else here.

Part of that post probably refers to me. After I posted Kiss I thought later that that's not metal.
Too late to change it though. Other than that glam (is) considered metal albeit (crappy). Other than three or four bands,
I hated that shit. If you agree that Tokyo Blade (one of my posts) is metal then why not glam. They are not that far removed
from glam. Van Halen could probably go, along with my Kiss post but Extreme and the like, why not?

There's something I don't understand here, this thread is for crappiest METAL album, but many  here has post albums that have nothing to do with metal,  many are hard rock or glam rock bands, just for the record glam metal does not exist, made up of media to sell glam bands as metal cause metal use to sell in the old days, but basically they are hard rock bands, there are many crappy albums in metal, that are actually metal and....well, are crappy: for example Tygers of Pang Tang "The Cage" bland  generic heavy metal, or Tokyo Blade "Blackhearts and Jaded Spades" repetititive boring album, also we have Kreator's 90's alternative metal crap albums, Testament "The Ritual", slow down groovy alternative  thrash metal?? no f***ing  way!!, Celtic Frost popy "Cold Lake"....and the list goes on.

It's definately the worst Megadeth song I've heard. They had a bit of a patchy run between Countdown To Extinction and United Abominations. Things have been back on track since then though. Kiamats right, Mustaine should be ashamed of that one but not as ashamed as Van Halen should be for releasing an album with Gary Cherone on vocals.

That is a shocker!!! Udo sounds terrible and that bit after the second verse where it get orchestral sounds cheesy. It's worse than Pat Boone.

'Crush 'Em' from Megadeth's Risk album. The whole album pretty awful but whereas most of it is instantly forgettable this track deserves a special mention, being the single it got loads of airplay, and I believe its now sung at- Baseball? Possibly, something like that, anyway it means that instead of disappearing off the radar and going off to die quietly in a corner somewhere, this song has been perpetuated... Dave Mustaine should be ashamed of himself.
[kiamat] Sunday, May 02, 2010 9:08:18 AM

Oh, Doro- how could you?
I can't stand it when people take a hard rocking track and try to make a ballad of it, it never works. I remember some emo band called Signs doing something similar with Run to the Hills, but at least they were a terrible poppy band to start with.
Doro and Udo... have NO excuse for this kind of behaviour.

[Budred] Wednesday, April 28, 2010 8:43:12 PM

Well Graig, no disrespect to you but the great thing about all of this is that it is only opinion.
Your opinion matters to you, my opinion matters to me, and everyone else's opinion matters to them,
and that my friend is all that matters. Also I do not bash all 80's bands I just hate Extreme. Slipknot
may be fart noises to you but I like them and couldn't give a rat's ass about who doesn't. I also listen to many
styles of music. when I was younger I thought it had to be heavy to be cool but I've since evolved. I liked
the first couple of albums by LA Guns but don't care for them now. I can listen to anything from the old
Rolling Stones to Judas Priest to Slipknot to Sabbath to Disturbed to old Foreigner to Rush to System of a
Down to Marilyn Manson. In case you don't get it I will never be tied down to one form of metal or music. If I
like it I'll listen to it and won't care what anyone thinks about it. So criticize all you want because I listen to
music for me to enjoy not others. So in closing, instead of telling me what you like must be better than what I
like just stick to the thread and post what you consider to be the crappiest album. I may not agree but I won't
tell you you're wrong because once again, It's all just opinion.

I remember LA Guns very well, Craig. I cannot say with any certainty whom they were influenced by but I never really cared for them. I will admit it. I did not care for a lot of that era. Of course, you must remember that I was in a band at that time in LA and we could not get work because we refused to wear make up and hairspray. We simply did not look and play like that and, consequently, we did not get gigs.

Bands like LA Guns were a dime a dozen. Just watch that movie, "Decline of Western Civilization, the Metal Years" and you will see exactly what I mean. These bands were just god-awful and all of them looked the same, too. Just terrible. Sorry. I hope that is not the aforementioned "bashing"!
[Craig Wagenhoffer] Wednesday, April 28, 2010 11:41:05 AM
The same thing goes for L.A. Guns:

I've always loved this stuff and I can't get enough of it. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with a hard-edged, guitar driven 1980's rock song like the one I posted above? There's absolutely nothing wrong with it as far as I'm concerned. I've noticed that the people who are bashing this classic material are also the ones who are into corporate mallcore crap like Korn, Disturbed, Slipknot, Bullet For My Valentine,... This is ridiculous. Bands like L.A. Guns were heavily influenced by legendary acts such as the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Cream,... I wonder if anyone will start bashing these acts as well. Now that would be an all time low in the history of this noticeboard.

Dude... Pornograffitti is a kick-ass album. Top notch musicianship! Especially Nuno Bettencourt! Check out that solo at 2:30:

This is incredible. Why you prefer the fart noises of Slipknot above a classic piece of art like Pornograffitti is beyond me.

Head Tactics was a compilation of the two albums Samson released with Bruce Dickinson on vocals, Head On and Shock Tactics. Thunderstick was a gimp boy that played drums in a leather mask and was kept in a cage, his real name is Barry Graham. Here is an extremely suspect song from the Head On album called Manwatcher.

It looks like this is Thunderstick on the cover and that it is the first album blatently promoting gayness. Other than Manwatcher song titles include Hard Times, Take It Like A Man and Thunderburst. Fucking hilarious. Definately a Top 10 crap album.

This may not be the crappiest but definitely should make the top ten list.
"Head Tactics" by Samson  Clive Burton left to join Maiden and they got some dude called Thunderstick to replace
him. Then they got Bruce Dickenson. Thank goodness he left for Maiden also. I hate him now but Maiden blew Samson
away. Peace all.

P.S. I agree with Jimmy. I bought that cd he mentioned. I got one play out of it, now I use it
as a dust collector.
