Bruce-yummmmmmmm.  for some reason i love both wrathchild and prowler with dianno better. (just those two songs)
[metalmaz] Thursday, March 05, 2009 11:38:22 AM
Bruce all the way.

There is no Maiden without Bruce and no Priest without Robert

(IMO)

Paul DiAnno was good on the first two albums, but I still prefer Bruce Dickinson. I saw Paul on Sweden Rock Festival some years ago, in my opinion he´s not that good singer anymore.

Where would we be without both?
Helloween
Preist
AC/DC
Van/Halen

Well, I prefer Bruce than Paul. Paul song with a kind of voice very punky, and I don´t like Punk, I like Heavy Metal and I´m 17 years old. Yeah!!!

This is a very good question first any band that has changed singers it is all most impossible well for me to say I like Bruce more than Paul I would say this Paul was the First Singer Maiden had as they got Famous I love every Maiden song with him singing and vise versa when Paul was let go and Bruce was singing I love every Maiden song with him singing.

I like both.

Bruce Dickinson in the 80's. He's lost a few steps in his old age. He's no HALFORD.

although bruce has a better voice and he is a better frontman and a real good person in personal life , dianno sucks at being a frontman and is a jerk , i think that the first two albums couldnt be done with bruce's voice but paul is better in those albums.

Thanks for the info Maple. I'll have to check-out E-BAY. You know they raise money for a Clive Burr foudation, the MS Trust? I really like the fact that they never lost contact with him and have been there for him. Do you know the story about how Bruce and Adrain got back into the band? Just so much class about this band, when you know the story.

[Maple Syrup] Friday, October 17, 2008 12:23:38 PM
VOM: First of all I am incorrect. It is the sound house tapes, not road house. Recorded in 1979, it is a 3 song EP of the early maiden. Clive Burr isnt even on the recording. Here is what I was able to pull off from Wikiepdia. I do have an mp of one of the songs (Prowler) and it is a bit different from the first IM LP. Anyway, you can proly find this on e-bay or a regarded old vinyl shop. Good speaking to you! MSyrup

The Soundhouse Tapes is an EP by Iron Maiden. The Soundhouse Tapes are the very first recordings of Iron Maiden. Released on 9 November 1979, it features three songs taken from the demo tape Spaceward. The songs were recorded by the band on New Year's Eve 1978/79. The three tracks - "Prowler", "Invasion" and "Iron Maiden" - appear in rougher form than they would later be heard on the first Iron Maiden album and subsequent singles. The fourth song from the demo - "Strange World" - would also appear on Iron Maiden. The song was not included in The Soundhouse Tapes because the band wasn't happy with the recording quality. A demo of Transylvania, presumably from the same recording sessions (or at least the same era), has been floating around on the internet for some time as well.

The EP was extremely successful, selling all 5,000 copies of its initial pressing by mail order in less than a week.

The Soundhouse Tapes have been bootlegged several times, as well as being re-released by the band in full on the 4 LP vinyl version of the Best of the Beast box set, and spread over singles and the two CD version released around the same time.

The Soundhouse Tapes' title was taken from The Soundhouse club. This was a heavy metal disco run primarily out of the Prince of Wales pub in Kingsbury, North West London by NWOBHM pioneer Neal Kay. Iron Maiden would play regular gigs at The Soundhouse and the venue was instrumental in gaining the band a wider following.

It is the only Iron Maiden record to feature the band as a four piece (with Dave Murray as its only guitarist).

In 2002, when the band reissued its catalogue, they held a special promotion in which a fan could collect proofs of purchase from the remasters and send them in along with shipping and handling to receive a CD of these recordings (this is, to date, the ONLY time the Soundhouse Tapes recordings have (officially) been released on CD.)

Swedish death metal band Opeth released a live album in 2007 called The Roundhouse Tapes in homage to this title.

[edit] Track listing

All songs written by Steve Harris.

  1. "Iron Maiden" – 4:01
  2. "Invasion" – 3:07
  3. "Prowler" – 4:20

My opinion, Dicko is to Maiden what Halford is to the Priest, while Di'anno and Ripper just don't quite make it the same. Compare the quality of screams, note-holding and octave ranges........as I said, my opinion! No offence intended.
[VICTIM OF METAL] Thursday, October 16, 2008 8:01:31 PM
No i don't, maybe you can direct me towards that purchase? Yes I'am a huge Maiden fan, Priest first of coruse. So that should tell you how i feel about Priest. I've got old Maiden on dvd playin' now with DiAnno, Live at the Rainbow, London, december 1980. Then i poped in some Beast over Hammersmith, Odeon, London,mach,1982. Nice to see them play Total Eclipse live here, a real treat, and well worth the dvd in it's self. Love finding obscure songs hardly ever played live. Please let me know about the Roadhouse Tapes.

Slowdown now Jimmyjames... Dianno has to be considered abig part of Maiden's past. I had the opportunity to see Maiden (Killers) with Priest (POE) in 1981. Dianno was excellent.. The biggest suprise in my opinion on their setlist then was Strange World from their first album. By the way VOM, you are a big IM fan, do u have a copy of the Roadhouse Tapes? Just checkin'. MSyrup

I don't make up the setlist , you want me to twist some arms, lol? I got into Maiden by seeing the album cover, thought it was cool. Well, it was cool and more. I like and enjoy the DiAnno years and if you check some of my posts i have paul's works ( after  maiden) and still listen to them, as i do bruce's solo stuff. Could Paul pull off the music Maiden has put out since he left? I think not. Can Bruce pull off older Maiden? I think so. And he does it! Do we have to actually determine who is more talented? I agree, some killers could have been added, but this is the SAME SETLIST THEY DID BACK THEN, with the exception of Fear of the Dark. Maybe i'll start a post, favorite Maiden songs by DiAnno? Lord knows i've got alot,lol...

Most of you will probably hate this but i reckon it would be awesome if Maiden re-recorded Iron Maiden and Killers with Bruiser on vocals. He would sound awesome on songs like Remember Tomorrow, Killers, etc.

VOM: You mentioned their recent tour contain songs from 80-89 .. and Live after death had no Killers either? Wrathchild, Murders in the Rue Morgue etc??? Can I beg to differ or maybe I am wrong. IMO: Having no songs from Killers in the setlist is a bit of a void, although it is Dianno, but c'mon.. MSyrup

Hey Maple, this Iron Maiden tour was called the "Somewhere Back In Time" tour. Songs included were from 1980-1989, but they did threw Fear of the Dark from 92' in there? If you have Live After Death on c.d. or dvd, this is the same exact show, with the same stage show and effects. It's really reliving a dream! With one of the coolest stage shows ever displayed in my concert going history. Hopfully this tour will be available on dvd with all the neat cookies that we have at our finger tips now in technology. If your a Maiden fan it's a do not miss. Next year will be a new c.d. for them, looking forward to that. Until then get it,turn it on, turn it up, and up the irons!

I have Pauls work after Maiden, Beyond Maiden, it's not bad? But please, Dickinson, Dickinson,Dickinson... must i give opinions? Bruce could have done killers and anything before it. So the deal of Killers wouldn't work without him (Paul) flew out the F...ing window. I like Paul, but we are talking about two different beasts. And one is a master and the other watches from the shadows...

On a more serious note (boo),  Paul DiAnno hardly has the back catalog or repertoire to even justify this question  however, that being said, would I have been disappointed if he sang on TNOTB album?  I don't think so, I liked Maidens previous releases and was a fan...but once I heard Dickinson, as much as I liked DiAnno, he was the perfect fit sorry Paul, but this is one instance (imo) where the singer made the difference, and that would be Bruce

I think I've done all of those except the gas cap, because my father was so bad about forgetting it I made a point not to. If he borrowed my car, I was in need of a new gas cap! Thank god they tie them to the car now!

LMAO.  Sometimes I wish I could put an ignore button on myself, but other people seem to do a good job of that themselves.  LOL  Sometimes I feel like I'm talking to  a wall when telling people something..esp. the word "NO".  My CAT seems to understand that concept better than humans.  LOL
A REWIND button would be even better.  Lord knows I have to repeat crap to people at least THREE times before it sinks in.  Been working in retail WAY too long.  LOL
