What I think is cool is that these guys are still out there rockin' like they did 25 years ago! Most bands slow down with age, but not these guys. Imagine doing this night after night when you've traveled all day - must be exhausting. I say, let's appreciate them while they're here. I was crushed when they split, but now that they're back together, heaven has returned...
[Ellieke] Saturday, April 11, 2009 2:47:44 AM
I started like them about 18 years ago because Rob's voice was so pure, but I realy fell in love when I saw them live.

The music is breathtaking and the tranquility that Rob sended out on stage was making me forget that we were on earth. I started to flood.

Only ones I had the same experience at a concert , it was at the concert of Anastacia, so JP and Anastacia share the first place in my top 10 list all times.

I've seen them twice now, AWESOME both times
First time, Painkiller Tour
Second time, Priest Feast
And I will see them again if they do another UK Tour

I read some of your posts and think that all of you are lucky to have at least seen them live once or twice, i didn't. so, i couldn't care less if Rob was singing upside down, i would be so into them! It would be a memorable moment of my life. Just think Judas Priest. Wow!!
[Vaillant 3.0] Monday, March 09, 2009 1:38:54 PM

Ha! At least you brought up a subject most of us would ignore during the heat of the moment. I know I wouldn't pay the least attention to what Rob is doing while singing.

you've missed my point! I don't expect Rob to look me in the eye!! Great though that would be! I just feel that a litttle more " looking at the crowd" would be good.

That was my sole objection to the Wembley gig. Musically they were brilliant. Rob sounded brilliant . I had a brilliant time.

JUDAS PRIEST A A BRILLIANT FUCKING METAL BAND. THEY ARE METAL GODS!!!

I THINK ROB AND THE GUYS ARE DOING JUST FINE AS FAR AS STAGE PRESENCE GOES...YES,
IT'S SLOWED DOWN MOVEMENT-WISE SOMEWHAT...YES,MY FAVOURITE TOURS WERE DEFENDERS AND SFV,THE WAY ROB PROWLED THE STAGE WAS FANTASTIC...MET HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME BACK THEN,AND GOT TO SHAKE THE HAND OF THE MAN AND CHAT FOR A BIT...IT WAS A TREMENDOUS THRILL FOR ME,HE WAS VERY ANIMATED AND VERY FRIENDLY...PEOPLE HOWEVER DO AGE,EVEN ROCKSTARS...BUT IT'S STILL A BANGUP JOB THEIR DOING,I THINK ANYWAY...YES,THE END IS NEAR, BUT THAT'S OK,WE'LL ALWAYS HAVE THE MEMORIES,THE ALBUMS,THE VIDEOS,AND THE LIVE EVENTS THAT WE SO ENJOYED OVER THE THREE PLUS DECADES OF PRIEST...WORKS FOR ME...

[Matchova] Monday, March 09, 2009 11:36:06 AM

Calm down mate!
But you seem a bit picky. What do you rather prefer; Rob leaning over to ensur a better voicequality or him standing straight/dancing around/jumping/making pirouetts/throwing himself in to the mosh pit (ok all of that you dont have to take serious..) and presenting a not as good singing?

Personlay, not least to the Nostradamus material I think the dense, heavy walk suited just fab! But thas me....

Why an EARTH would I pay out money for a show with the sole intention of  going to" pick it apart"

Anyway perhaps you should  learn to read properly or get some  sort of corrective vision aid as you have obviously not read my posts properly

Musically Priest were fantastic and I had a great time. All I am trying to say, I did not think Halford's on stage persona was particuarly good.

However, if you think that means I was picking it apart, that's fine. Strange and totally wrong. But if that's how you interpret things, so be it.

Brisbane is only a 3 hour flight away, I would have GLADLY taken tix of their ungrateful hands- if I could have afforded it at the time (saving monies for wedding and Europe took up all spare cash lol). I just want to see Priest live and would be grateful for the experience and no doubt would have a kick arse time!

When i went to the Brisbane show, My uncle and his friend came with us (Mum and Brother are big JP fans), They had already mentioned they were not big fans of JP, but would come for the experience.... neeless to say some heated arguments ensued over the performance, as all they wanted to do was tear it apart.... My reply to them at the end of it all was..well, why the fuck did you go?...why did you spend money on good tix when someone else could have gone in your place and enjoyed it more...

I'll throw in my 2 cents..... I never ever in my wildest dreams thought i would be able to see the Almighty Priest live.... let alone, have them play in my country (Australia - The forgotten country... yes there are 26 million of us!!) LET ALONE my city!!! Countless bands come to play the 2 biggest cities on OZ then piss off.... Mind you Brisbane is an hour and 45 mins flight from Sydney....
Priest however, after never having played here, decide that it is finally time to give us a visit. I took the time to see two shows..... No way was i only going to see them once, I know it's highly unlikely they will ever visit again. So to me, having witnessed such greatness on stage live has been an absolute blessing and something I hope i never forget.
NOW, as for the show itself... When it comes to the whole stage performance i was very pleased. The sound was top notch, the band looked like they were having fun.. great atmosphere! They played songs i never thought i'd hear live.. PLUS some i was dying to hear live. As for the nit-picking that's going on here..... I would be a bit peeved if Rob DIDN'T move around the stage. If he favoured one side or just stood in the middle i would probably be yelling some sort of abuse... Everytime he moved in front of the crowd I could feel the excitement, it made for a much more enjoyable night. Bands use this technique live... perhaps not in smaller club gigs cos the stage is too small for it. But look at Maiden... is there a problem with Bruce and Steve navigating the stage throughout their performance?... IMO It makes it more lively, keeps the audiences attention. It's all part of the show... which essentially is what it is... "A Show" If it was purely "live music" they would sit on stools and not move..

((End Rant)).... Probably the biggest you'll ever see come from me...
[spapad] Sunday, March 08, 2009 9:39:20 PM
How could anyone go to a Priest show and walk away dissapointed! If someone is disappointed then they just went there to pick the show apart.
No way,if your a fan such as you Jeanine, that folks like us could go to the concert and not feel 100%  satisfied! Maz is being a little to picky and that might earn me an ignore, but I don't care. No way! You can go to a Priest concert and walk away feeling incomplete unless you just want to be unhappy.
Sorry, just the way I feel! DTF!

I also must agree. I have said this before, I am so extremely thankful to be able to see this band 24-25 years after I first saw them. After going through the 90's of not so great music I was so excited to hear they were up playing again. I truly love the music, I love seeing them live. The shows aren't what they used to be but neither am I . We are better than before .  Always loved them but I appreciate them more now.
[Becks] Sunday, March 08, 2009 3:03:52 PM
I agree with the sentiment of be thankful you have seen Priest live. In all their 30+ years, they have NEVER done a concert here in New Zealand. The concert last year got cancelled due to logistics reasons - I even heard the miscommunication was so bad the band didn't even know they were scheduled to come! I only hope that they come here in the near future, they are the one band I want to see live above any others
[paperflowers] Sunday, March 08, 2009 1:42:14 PM

I remember in an interview one of them saying the city name is taped up where Rob can see it. Hard to keep track when you travel that much.

[Deep Freeze] Sunday, March 08, 2009 1:13:43 PM
I have no idea, man. No idea at all. I would assume that, if they do in fact use them, someone may have a pic from backstage that would show them?  I have a program from the AoR tour and it has a couple good stage shots where you can see their marks but I do not see any teleprompter.

Phantom is right, metalmaz. Not everyone is lucky enough to see Judas Priest live, so at least be grateful that you got to see them again. I only saw them once, and I was too busy having a good time to notice every single one of Rob's flaws. Heck, I went crazy when he walked to my side of the audience, trying to encourage us to sing/scream... at that point nobody cares if Rob is in need of a workout....Plus Rob is not just singing to you, as though you're the one he should concetrate on....he has to divide his attention to thousands of people. Don't try to hog him for yourself, you know...
[Phantom A6] Sunday, March 08, 2009 11:34:03 AM
Hmm...
First leg of the European part of the world tour.
Priest wasn't in Hannover - Fuck!!
Second leg of the European part of the world tour.
Priest don't coming to Hannover - Fuck!!
Only two times in the last three decades they
wasn't in Hannover - 1984 (show cancelled)
and 1987. So I can't understand statesment
like "floor singing" and "stage walking".
I don't have the fricken money at this time
for fucking railroad tickets, so I can't see them
live this year. Be lucky to have see them!!

And what is wrong with using teleprompters??  .......             HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, back in my "band" days, we did use the old paper set list taped to the floor and back of the amps thing!
[Matchova] Sunday, March 08, 2009 9:46:14 AM
Once again, I think its to push the diafragma...
When I saw them last saturday, Rob leand over to the audience, smiled his cheeks upp to the ears...It caused mass hysteria (and yes, I thought I could sens an aura round his head...man I love priest so freakishly much)
But I agree that KK´s the one working hardest to please the audience.

[Bev] Sunday, March 08, 2009 8:45:53 AM
I don't think I've noticed teleprompters, either.  Don't believe they actually use them ...  Remember the old days it wasn't uncommon for club bands to tape set lists or lyrics to new material on a monitor; also not uncommon to forget the beginning of a song having played it so often.  LOL

btw -  In Vegas, I was sitting 7 rows up behind the sound box - I could swear when Rob came out in the beguiling Nostradamus cloak and began singing, "I AM THE DARKNESS; BORN OUT OF LIGHT; I AM THE FORCE THE FIRE; THAT BURNS HERE TONIGHT ... " he was playing the song just for me, well, and for everyone there!  ; )

Cheers!
[astarup] Sunday, March 08, 2009 8:13:12 AM
Okay, this is getting too weird Metalmaz ... Maybe you caught Rob on a bad day? ... Yes we all have them :o) ... or maybe youre just over sensitive?
Rob spent time in front of me during both shows and he looked at me, and talked to specific people in the crowd as well ... He was humorous and in a good mood, but still dignified ... oh no its that "bad" non-metal word again ... :o)
He didnt sing to the floor, yes he walked around, so that everyone could get a glimpse of him, thats SO cool of him, instead of just shake his ass in the middle of stage ...
He ACTS like a MetalGod, thats all ...

Not to mention he looks at the floor. (I couldn't see any teleprompters down there either)

Hey Rob, if you're out there reading this, could you give 'maz here a quick glance so he/she knows you care about your fans, the audience, please?
[metalmaz] Sunday, March 08, 2009 6:21:56 AM
Shame he doesn't bother looking at them then.

[Vaillant 3.0] Saturday, March 07, 2009 11:15:55 PM
He probably walks from side to side to let the audience on the extreme sides of the venue see him. Gotta be in contact with everyone in the audience at all times and let them see you as much as possible, you know. What else is he going to do while K.K and Glenn are playing some of their solos? And I like Halfords HEAVY DIGNITY! He simply puts dignity into another level!
Even Mr Dickinson recieved some dignitypoints just by cutting his hair (if you look like a skoolgirl with a malfitting fringe - then givit up!!)
Tipton on the otherhand, looks real cool in his fringe!
