Hey 'where am i'...
Thanks for the link. I remember hearing about the fiasco, just didn't understand at the time the details as wholly as this article explains here. It really doesn't make Ticketmaster look good -- especially the fact they don't care much about the fans, or the bands... Guess not much has changed!

Integrity and grit will always win over a few blockbuster tours and several multi-platinum albums. Priest are all about the love of what they do....sure, they might receive a nice paycheck for it in the process...but you can't deny the feeling of hearing 5,000-10,000 fans screaming your praises on a nightly basis and wanting to make those screams louder and louder!! Priest have done this so consistently over the last 35 years (especially in the last 28 of those 35 years)...it's no wonder they still command a more than respectable draw ....fans remember the bands that defined their youth and were the soundtrack to their lives.

| Great topic--& it's so true--i've been to many concerts over the years & no other band get s their name chanted before the concert even starts--I've never heard-Leppard--Leppard or Metallica -Metallica--but I have heard Priest--Priest before they even step on the stage--metal fans from different walks of life uniting for the one band who brings them all together---PRIEST !!--PRIEST !!---PRIEST !! |

Judas Priest concerts are the ONLY concerts I've attended where the fans are even cheering their praises while they're LEAVING their respective areas of any of the arenas I've seen Priest play. I mean....that's how you know a group of fans are utterly ebullient with what they've witnessed....even if they have been privy to it several times before! I've seen many other bands....lotsa shows....and NONE of 'em...where the fans did anything quite like that.
Priest are truly in a class by themselves....that's been my feeling about 'em since 1981....and it's still that way. |

Although, I must confess... while Tipton made sure I got his pic, I did not "catch" Downing's...
It was only through the generosity and the 'great-big-heart' of a guy with us in the front-row, did I acquire that particular pic. I offered to buy it from him - to make up the pair - which he gallantly declined and just gave it to me.
Don't call him a fool, either! He was very cute, and quite a bit younger than me... But I guess he was taught to respect his elders -- lol!
He is a big part of why I joined this website, and I am looking for him -- as we hung around outside after the show, and I promised to stay in touch. ("Pennywise" are you out there!!???) It was only later that he learned of my nasty injury and loss of violin/guitar (and L-hand, basically), that he probably felt pretty good about it. (Especially when the tears started... lol! But, I think he knew just how much it all meant to me.)
Anyway, in a round-about way the 'off-topic' conversation on pics has come full-circle -- back to how JP Fans are a very cool bunch of people. And, at all their concerts that I have attended, I come away with great memories and friends. |

Heck, you can buy picks from the band on eBay. Spend $10 and get an identical one if you want to use it. Getting your own personal ones from a concert is just too special to use. The MEMORY is worth more than the value of the pics.

KK's is red w/ his signature on the other
&
Glenn's is white w/ his signature, as well.
(All writing in that glitter/silver.)

However, I'm unsure what to do...
See, recently had severe injury to L-hand which is catastrophic to my violin & guitar-playing. Fucking sucks, quite frankly... (Violin w/ Priest in Nostradamus is magic, to me!) Anyway, am re-learning guitar the L-handed way (frustrating & humbling, to say the least). Violin ... well, been playing so long I just don't think I can re-learn the other way.
Here's the problem... do I use the picks (hoping some magic will rub off!?)
OR ... keep them safe and 'hoard' them? (Kind of like keeping plastic on the sofa, which I am not in the habit of doing.) What to do? Advice from fellow fans?
(kind of off-topic, but hey... I am curious for feedback on this one.)

Too starstruck to do much else, but there you have it. Caught a couple kisses from Glenn on-stage, and got both KK & Glenn's pics at the end of it all. 4th concert of theirs I've been to, but one guy in the VIP group has seen them 23!!! times. That's impressive....
