It was the first one, Dime. And it was NOT easy to find! I happened to find a friend that had a copy of it! Anyway, I am sorry to disappoint you but it just was not my "cup of tea". I have been accused of being the classic "obtuse American" (by none other than our dearly departed Winnepeg Warrior no less!) but I do have some compassion! Not much, but some! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I may try to watch the other one but, quite frankly, it just does nothing for me. Sorry. I dont know the second movie just really pisses you off as well as opens your eyes to what could be. We create laws because we can't sovle our problems. I believe the first film is very much conspiracy theories, the only thing i found intresting was the first half. The second movie is all about money and the monetary system. If you watched the first one, or well 3/4. Forget the last quater( even though the ending was pretty cool) Watch the second one. Thats the movie i wanted your opinion on. Its not anything to do with conspiracy crap. It actually highlights a really out there project called the venus project. Their goal being to drastically change our lives through technology. Insane stuff. WATCH IT!!!!!!

OK Dime, I tried to watch the film over the weekend. I managed to get through a large portion of it. Although it was certainly interesting, I find this kind of film to be incredibly tedious. I liken it to the tripe that loser Michael Moore puts out, although Zeigeist was measurably more interesting and far better done. I do not mean to insinuate that this is a Moore film, quite the contrary, it is a very good movie. I mean the whole "conspiracy theory" thing is just too much for my feeble mind to digest.
The film seems to imply that religion, governments and banking have all conspired against the common man. While I am no fan of religion, I just cannot follow this kind of thinking. I am a capitalist at heart, I suppose. I am far more interested in making money and creating wealth than I am in what happens to "Joe Public". I suppose that is a terrible thing to say but, with me, what you see is what you get. I am what I am, as "Popeye" might say.
I do appreciate that you "turned me on" to the movie. I hope I have not disappointed you with my thoughts. I am just not all that liberal, nor am I what one might consider a "free thinker". I am just a man. Part of the system. In fact, I happen to support that system. It has helped me to do well in life and provide. That others have surely suffered by that very same system is regrettable but I guess it is just life. Some get, some do not. Some have, some have not. That's how it goes. |

Oh my! You are rather adamant, aren't you? Most often, I watch horror films simply because I look at movies as entertainment, not some kind of lesson in social awareness. I will check it out, my friend. I will let you know. YES, I HAVE SEEN IT...I DOWNLOADED IT ABOUT A YEAR OR SO AGO...AND NOTHING IN THIS MOVIE I WOULD REGARD AS SURPRISING,WHEREAS SOME PEOPLE WOULD,OR WOULD JUST
DISMISS IT,IT'S A FINE EXAMPLE OF THE STUPIDITY AND GREED OF THE HUMAN RACE...THE OPENING FEW MINUTES ABOUT SAYS IT ALL,FROM THE WONDER OF CREATION ITSELF TO THE MADNESS IN THE PROLIFERATION OF THE WEAPONS OF WAR....NOT TO MENTION ANYONE STILL SHOCKED (OR QUESTIONING) ABOUT THE CURRENT ECONOMIC CRISIS SHOULD SEE THIS,
SEE HOW A "CERTAIN GROUP" CONTROLS THE BANKS AND YOUR VERY LIVELYHOOD,IT'S CYCLICAL...HAVEN'T SEEN PT. II...I'M SURE IT'S AS INTRIGUING AS YOU SUGGEST. But hey man your a pretty intellectual kinda guy, i would be very interested to here your opinion on these movies. Much more the second then the first. you should watch them, no joke, i think you might be pretty interested. |

Dime, I do hope you forgive me but perhaps you did not need an entire Thread to talk about them?? We already have movie Threads and whatnot. It would appear to me that you would have done better to discuss these films in an already-existing Thread, no? I am sure they are fine films, if you say they are. I just do not see the need for ANOTHER Thread. |
