the issue raised was the band claimed none of the songs on the new disc were ever released live, yet were with tim on official discs [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by spapad from Saturday, May 30, 2009 3:13:36 PM) | | spapad wrote: | | Excuse me while I inject my opinion here. No one in Priest ever disrepected Tim Owens and he has a voice so talented that I am GLAD he moved on to discover himself and HIS abilities!

Hell I saw a 12 year old girl at Guitar Center about 6 months ago that could hang with Scott. I sat there with my jaw dropped for about 15 minutes. This kids feet were so fast it sounded like machine gun fire on the kick drums!!
And seriously, why is this thread in existance............! As long as they do a venue in New York City, preferably Carnegie Hall, I'll be real happy. It has been talked about, I hope it becomes a reality. |

I doubt they'd spend too long playing Nostradamus album. I'd bet they will do a select few venues around the world to play it. Still...it would be something epic to witness. (from everything I've read) They're hammering down the details to start touring Nostradamus live and in its entirety. That to me would be the fuckin' show of a lifetime, seeing them present a masterpiece LIVE!!! |

Yeah but think about it Numero, they are touring the world embarking on a grand anniversary tour, they don't have time to record a new album yet especially when you saw how long it took to record Nostradamus! They are releasing this to fill in the gap for when they come to recording a new studio album and they don't need to take any time away from touring to do that it's called feeding the fans. At least they aint released a million live albums like Iron Maiden have! That is what i trully believe and i'm pleased too cause some of these live tracks are my favourites recorded, Prophecy, Eat Me Alive, Beyond the Realms of Death. It's a brilliant track listing. It's crappy that they have ignored the Ripper years but most people believe that Halford is Priest, he is where he belongs. What they should have said was never released by the definitive lineup! Man i so hope they release another studio album. 'Priest announced that they are releasing a new album of 11 previously unreleased live tracks. However, 3 of those have been released live on CD during the Ripper era. In your opinion, is Ripper owed an apology by 'Priest for stating they haven't released a live album with him, or do you think it's understandable for them to ignore the Ripper era ever having existed? |

Nobody is leaving!! So stop that crap right now!!
And remember, after only two albums with Tim, they did a live CD/DVD...... Live in London!!!????
Seems no one has mentioned this fact, so as for an apology, no they owe him nothing but his royalties for what he sang on!! |

No because that's stupid.
There not ignoring the Ripper era. I think they meant previously unreleased with ROB singing. Ripper is probably just as excited about this live Cd as we are. He IS a Priest fan too ya know. Thats true. I guess its because Rob is the frontman, and he has the most contact with the audience... And vocals are always the hardest to replace.
As for the apology, I guess we should let them sort it out. Maybe there was an error in the press release? And if it isnt... Well, I guess Ripper has a right to be pissed. Personaly, I never cared much for him, and there is really only one song from the Ripper era that I like. Maybe the press release wasn't well written, and what they meant was that these particular live recordings have never been released before, not the songs themselves. |
