I've listened to it 5 times in it's entirety and as I've said before in my opinion the first 5 studio albums are unmatchable untouchable masterpieces and starting with Somewhere in Time 86' till now is the band's progressive side ... this album 100% DEFINITELY is their best album since Powerslave!
Track #1 "Senjutsu " is as I said before too long in my opinion although Harris looks at it as an intro sort of...in fact it throws the listener off ... it distracted my first listen of the rest of the album and left me wondering why the length of it that I couldn't soak up the entire rest of the album even though I was listening to it so again, Senjutsu is good though and Nico McBrain his drums on the album the sound and styles reminds me of Piece of Mind.
1. Senjutsu 2. Stratego 3. The Writing On The Wall 4. Lost In A Lost World 5. Days Of Future Past 6. The Time Machine 7. Darkest Hour 8. Death Of The Celts 9. The Parchment 10. Hell On Earth

I listened to the album again and read a few articles about it prior and Harris wanted an intro as an epic track to open the album...ok ...but why the F does it have to be an 8 minute epic track ? 3 minutes would be reasonable...but 8? That's the issue I have...the ONLY fffffiiiiing issue!
Guys this fffffiiiiing album is great it's thier most progressive yet so it's basically Iron Maiden's "Nostrdamous " but FAR BETTER imo .... the opener makes sense at 2 minutes but again, that's my only complaint because the rest of the ENTIRE ALBUM IS EXCELLENT!!..It's not better than Firepower of course not but it would be exactly like Firepower opening up track #1 with "Sea Of Red"....?? I like Sea Of Ted but NOT as an opener...it's about placement so I just don't like the length of the opener but damn what a GREAT album ....

Ok I have heard the entire new Iron Maiden album Senjutsu and it's unfortunate for me that it's just "ok" and what ruins this album for me is the very first track #1 "Senjutsu " the title track is a slow tempo boring chorus track that could of been ok for a next to last track but an 8 minute opener that's slow and the chorus isn't bad but it isn't spectacular either and its just b side material really...
A track as the opener a skip because it lacks energy and does not match up with any other opener on an Iron Maiden album in fact this is definitely the worst opening song on a Maiden album with exception to the 2 Blaze albums.
The other tracks are mmm ok 👌 for progressive Iron Maiden but imo this doesn't beat Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son or Brave New World. It's a let down because of that first track for me. If they would of just left it off and started it with Stretego it could of saved it ... not sure why they didn't go with a faster track. Listening to KK's Priest. The best new band to come along in in a while. Tell you what....these guys have it going on. Excellent drums, guitars, bass,vocals. Classic 70's and 80's style .... the drum solos and KK's rhythm guitar at 2:52 are amazing.

It's actually not that bad it's as heavy as Powerslave and there is something decent about it ... I mean if it were on side 2 of Powerslave right after Back in The Village it would be a better track than "The Duellists" ...but still even if the entire album is good as I like both songs so far,it still won't be as good as Powerslave lol but hell a decent record all the way through from them at this point would be nice.
I don't expect em to harken as far back as the first 3 albums but it's sometimes tough to see anything great when automatically the bar is set only to be possible thier 6th best album not being able to touch thier first 5 albums to lots of us Maiden fans but somehow you just have to pay closer attention...
I''ve tried this with many albums but the lps only end up half and half ...5 tracks good 5 not good. So yeah if somehow every track is decent then it would HAVE to be thier 6th best album. We'll see in 2 weeks. There are 8 more songs to hear 🤞

We really do hear things in different perspectives like fans of Nostrdamous...I only wish I liked it because of it's epic structure but for unexplained reasons I just can't capture it's offerings.
I've been arguing with a knuckle head online about Guardians/Rising From Ruins off Firepower.. in my opinion it is in the top 10 best Judas Priest songs ever written but this individual HATES it and calls it weak... this new Iron Maiden track (The Writing On The Wall) is actually so close to Guardians/Rising From Ruins musically you can play them at the same time and they sound almost in time with one another...
In my book if Rising From Ruins is that bad and weak then so is every Priest song that's not in the vien of Painkiller. And for the Maiden track it sounds to me like it could of easily been released in 1989 right after Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son and just before No Prayer For The Dying 1990. Especially the tone and video if some remember the video for Can I Play With Madness.
I surely will spill the truth if Senjutsu turns out lame but idk I have a funny feeling this album will have something special to offer ... @ guido ...I would skip this album altogether Especially if you don't like the new track because not in a million years it will touch the tip of the first 5 albums. @guido lol ! Well to me there are 2 different versions of the band.... the one from 1980s Iron Maiden to 1984s Powerslave & 1985s Live After Death live album which is the ultimate and obviously the BEST Iron Maiden era that is unmatched on the highest level.
Then there is the second version of the band going into thier progressive style and complex epic structures starting with the1986 Somewhere In Time album to 2021s Senjutsu album which will be the 12th album of progressive Iron Maiden... I haven't liked an Iron Maiden all the way through since the Powerslave album. I like songs here and there but starting with Somewhere in Time there's alwaysv 3 or 4 or 5 songs on each album I don't like.
No explanation why I like this track( The Writing On The Wall ) but this is my favorite track since 2 Minutes To Midnight and the lyrics are kick butt but I also understand why some don't like it because it isn't thier roots by any stretch. Can you see the riders on the storm, can you see them riding - riding next to you ~ a far cry from "we're brothers of the road and we rock" as obviously you are well aware of lol...

Think I'll have to give it a llsten in full when the album is released. Don't want to taint the overall experience with just one or two songs, that way I can keep my hopes up.

@spa ... no not AS GOOD as Powerslave but if this album is actually flawless IN MY OPINION for ME it will be Iron Maiden's best album SINCE POWERSLAVE ... the first 5 studio albums up to Powerslave are thier best 5 in whatever order ... this COULD be thier 6th best album for me. I absolutely like The Writing On The Wall but as I said I surely don't expect anyone else to. I like the epic vibes and style to me it blows away everything I've heard since Powerslave... when Bruce sings "Riding next to you" I envision him holding his head phones ... the video is awesome.
Yeah no beating thier first 5 stuidio albums no but if the songs match this new one it'll be quality for me. KKs Priest moved the release date tfrom August to October and I'll bet it's because Iron Maiden's Senjutsu is going to be released September 3rd ,doesn't matter if the album is good or not the popularity of it will bury KK. I liked The Wicker Man off Brave New World in 2000 when it was released great track great opener but only half the album turned out great . And 2005s A Matter Of Life And Death I like 80% of the album but what makes me not listen to it is I hate the first track iff the album "Different World" ...that first track HAS to be good otherwise it RUINS the entire album.

Then POP ....this shit comes out .... no mention of Les not even being in the fucking band at all he just releases Hellfire Thunderbolt and I'm like THAT ain't Les Binks,in fact this material sounds nothing like Les Binks would play .... HOW FUCKING LAME! Can you imagine how many Les Binks fans and old Judas Priest fans were pissed off learning all a sudden he ain't even in the band.

ok.. looks like the first two tracks and excellent videos from KK’s new album "Sermons of the Sinner" is getting great reviews on utube. I’d say about 95% positive... Yeah you have your typical negative comments out there..”bad production, Tim can’t sing, Rob is not there, sounds too much like Priest, it’s generic”..lol..blah blah ..I guess everyone has their opinion but overall it looks like metal fans love it. 10 tracks on the new album is a perfect number of songs too ..not a drawn out watered down 14 or 16 track album with a bunch of filler riff material...gets old. I like the 10 song format. KK even said he’s working on material for the next album so maybe fans won’t have to wait years between albums....what a concept! Good job KK’s Priest. Yeah Les Binks is not on the album but things happen and it sounds like he’ll make some appearances on the tour so he’s still involved. It’s kind of crazy that Priest won’t let KK be part of their anniversary tour and have at least one original guitarist on stage. Bad decision in my opinion....Priest management at its finest... their looking more like a Rob solo band now and I guess that’s fine if that’s what they want.. Actually I’m glad KK is out doing his own thing and it’s refreshing with lots of energy. Oh no........Not lovin' the new KKsPriest. Not at all. It's almost hurl worthy, that's not a good thing. Sermon for the Sinner? Oh for God sake get the fuck over it! Yes! Sinner is a great song! Just found the tracklist for the "Sermons of the Sinner" album. I'd bet the family farm that "Sacerdote y diablo" is an acoustic/Spanish-style guitar instrumental track.

@guido we'd almost be puzzled if it wasn't quality Judas Priest how their song writing skills have been with Ritchie. But like every Judas Priest record it'll sound different,somehow they do and the flavor of the new album Glenn Ritchie the lyrics from our Metal God and the album artwork...another one in the mystical being repitorie? I can't wait either.
Trying to equal or top Firepower... man that'll be freaking tough man... the title track Firepower,Necromancer,Children Of The Sun,Guardians/Rising From Ruins,Spectre,No Surrender ...hell all of the tracks are some level of kick ass I even love Sea Of Red ...
I'm sure I posted it before but anyways just to focus on Glenn's solos on the album he obviously plays all easier harmonies with Ritchie on every track.
He plays the short bend 5 seconds at the very end of Lightning Strike (lol) well he does it's unmistakable Tipton ha ha
He plays the first solo on Evil Never Dies/ the second trade off solos on Necromancer

Oh, I most certainly get that POV. I seriously almost cried when I heard Turbo for all the reasons you state. WHEN it was released was certainly a big part. Like you, I was really jonesin' for some just balls out heavy metal monster and...then the synth kicks in. lol. Followed by the eternally GOOFY album cover (complete with the "poked in the eye" / spectacled KK with poofy hair) of Priest Live? Fucking GREAT performance but, man... just some real goofiness there. Nostra, just like Turbo, has some excellent tunes. Wouldn't trade either for the world...NOW! lol
Listened to KK's song again after I posted last night. Ya know? Guitars are fine (yes, sounds like Nostra), drums, bass. All fine....it is the vocal and lyrics!! Gaaaah! THAT is my issue. With a better (different SOUNDING) vocalist with a better lyric writer perhaps? Dunno. Maybe this whole album will make me a "Ripper" fan.... um... no. (plus when that second guitarist pops up...I was thinking...KK's twin! lol).
Long live JUDAS Priest. Can't wait for that album!

As I said the same with Turbo coming off an album titled Defenders Of The Faith and then EXPLAINING to us in 1984 - 1985 that the "FAITH" means defending heavy metal and everything it stands for
...then in 1986 they do an about face 180 and Glam out with purple pink and yellow Turbo outfits and water the songs down on the Turbo album. So I think it's just a matter of timing sometimes that can hurt or help an album. It doesn't make an album better no but sometimes timing of when to release something makes it easier to digest.

Ya know, I can't say I disagree with you at all. Haven't HEARD more than this song (kinda thought the same about Les when I first heard it announced....wtf, eh? Cannot PLAY like this, as far as I could tell) but this was a mega-meh for me.

And he's playing on a couple classic tracks on a few selective shows or what the hell ever I don't think Downing thought this all the way through and later realized Les can't play it ha ha ha dude no way that's Les Binks on drums in the audio. Kk should of gone the opposite direction and went for a 70s style Judas Priest like Stained Class and Hell Bent For Leather style to match Les Binks' stripped down drum style.
But yeah I just don't like Tim Owens but a Stained Class Hell Bent For Leather primitive style would of came out of left field and would of been unexpected and may of made Owens voice more tolerable perhaps idk. Yeah KK is still my hero but to see him waste this on generic print out vending machine produced metal is tough to watch. Judas Priest will release something as strong as Firepower but as we know it'll be different. I just hope we like it because it's not a given they will always release something high quality like they have with Ritchie but I am hopeful.

Even half the song titles are lame. KK is still a hero of mine from my childhood but in 2021 I just can't stand him. He's also trying too hard to be heavy just like KK AND GLENN did with Jugulator Glenn was more responsible for Jugulator and it was terrible.

Yeah, I was never a fan of Ripper. Nice that he kept Priest going and all but his stepping on board is when I stopped listening. Halford - Resurrection was just like a second coming of Christ when I first heard it. DAMN that was good....
As for KK, though? I didn't get to the "TMZ" of metal report before you posted it. I honestly don't take what he said there as full-on Priest bashing but he certainly is trying terribly hard, eh? Since everyone else knows it by now, I see no reason to to not tell it here as well (I already came out on Facebook and some of you are my friends there, so ehh). I'm keeping it brief because the Noticeboard system likes to log me out if I try to write a long post.
But yeah, early last year I finally came to a conclusion that years upon years of thinking and dreaming were a bit more than that. They were my true identity. The identity of a woman.
So yeah, I'm a transgender woman. Physical transition hasn't started yet, but I'm well along in the psychiatric evaluations so it shouldn't be long before I start that. Socially I've already transitioned (even changed my legal name) and so far everything has gone very smoothly.
That's the "big thing" I was referring to earlier. Even though things have gone well for me so far, it does take a lot of mental energy which is why I've decided to shut down The Priest's Boot for now.

Oh, I agree with all 100%. More power to KK but Richie is just fantastic.
Props to Andy. Can't say I wasn't more than a "tad" let-down when Glenn couldn't make the last tour (not even a 'sighting' ... sigh) but having Andy as a producer? Then stepping in as a guitarist? HUGE shoes to fill and props to him for letting me, basically, see the others once again. Am I the only one hoping for a special "fans only - COVID show?"

I see K.K. has formed "K.K.'s Priest" with Owens and Les Binks,Im glad for those who are excited about this,K.K. will always be my guitar hero under Glenn that is and always love what he brought us.
For me I've always hated Owens and Jugulator and Demolition too,just my opinion. But again im glad K.K. is happy again. As far as this new album coming from them ...im sure it will please Jugulator and Demolition fans but in no way shape or form imo can it touch Judas Priest in the studio these days.
Redeemer Of Souls and Firepower are extremly classic records that if were released in 1986 and 1988 instead of Turbo and Ram It Down,they would be worshiped as ultra heavy metal classics and actually would of bridged a streak of top notch albums from British Steel to Painkiller. If you take Jugulator and Demolition and release them in 86 and 88 they would be looked at as worse than Turbo or Ram It Down.
Today's opinions of music is sooooooo picky ... in the 80's you have an obvious lame record,or inbetween or kick ass. These albums all could of been recorded a tiny bit "better" maybe mixed a tiny bit better maybe but in the 80's did we even bring up production?? Not that I can recall,at all. Did anyone gripe about Defenders of The Faith,although one of the best albums I get THAT but its not nearly as heavy as British Steel or Screaming For Vengeance production,sound wise if you really think about it and if released today it would be bashed heavily...but did anyone bitch about it? No.
Yet in today's era Priest releases Firepower and although its gotten more positive reviews than negative its still scoffed at with flaws of some sort,with Glenn playing solos on half the album with harmonies the other and his song writting is all over it. Rob,Glenn,Ian,Scott and Ritchie on studio IS JUDAS PRIEST. It just floors me people have the gull to question Firepower. I kinda thought the same when reading the article Acolyte was mentioning. Rob had said something to the effect of "Glenn still plays guitar...I'll see him soon for the holidays" sort of statement. Scratched my head thinking that didn't really sound good at all.
What would Richie, Ian and Scott DO?!? Get together with KK and Ripper?? lol All must really be tough for the band.
However, them getting the best metal album of the decade props? GREAT!!! I was surprised it was for RoS, though!

You know at this point... Firepower has 14 tracks. Half of them have Glenn's solos.
Evil Never Dies - first solo Necromancer - 2nd solis trading off and on Children Of the Sun - 2nd solo Guardians -both Glenn & Ritchie Rising from Ruins - 2nd solo Flamethrower - 2nd solo Sea of Red - 1st solo
The other 7 tracks have Ritchie's solos which is fine,as Glenn wrote ,helped write most of them. But will Glenn be ABLE to play 'ANY' solos on the next album? Will he even be able to lay down a rhythm?
It makes me wonder if a new Judas Priest album should even be made without Glenn? If Glenn can't play on studio,do we really NEED a new Judas Priest album? Imo i dont think they should do another album unless Glenn can play MORE on this new album than Firepower. Personally, I would think that something major had to have happened for things to have gotten SO bad it is the DLR / Michael Anthony vs. ALL of VH situation again. Like telling off your significant other, airing all your dirty laundry (did that happen? If so, what was it?? Musta missed it. LOL) and then asking them to take you back. Hell, bands do describe the relationship like a marriage with a bunch of other people.
I'd like KK to play with the band again but, then again, I also wanted Sonny to get back together with Cher! HAAA!!!

Happy Thanksgiving guys hope everyone is eating up good today and with family.
I have read the news about K.K. reaching out to Judas Priest about the 50th anniversary of the band's existance and apparently the band meaning first Glenn,then Rob,Ian and Janye Andrews - management responding they have no plans on including him.
Over all - overal all,after everything is into perspective as a fan I agree with guido as I love K.K. even though he's pissed me off saying some things about Glenn and the band even if what he said is 100% TRUE its just stuff he should of never told us fans,it was SELFISH it just is. But I will always love this guy he's one of my heros.
But that being said we dont know anything what's going on so as a fan: I wish he could just tell Glenn,Rob and Ian he is very sorry and I wish those guys could just accept his apologies and welcome him back into the band at this point K.K. surely would take a pay cut so he doesn't disrupt $$$ what's currently being paid in thier system....
It would be killer if Glenn thought this over,because like Paul runs Kiss,Iommi runs Sabbath,Harris runs Maiden,Glenn runs Priest,nothing is approved officially unless Glenn says so.
It would be kick ass because we had Ritchie with Glenn and now unfortunately Glenn's situation, we could have Ritchie with .K.K. even just live and no album would be ok at this point. Venango Nebraska is very peaceful,it's like Andy Griffith and the town of Maybery or however it was spelled lol Yeah nice trees in the town, every yard cut nice and smooth old houses,rocking chairs on porches and everyone is friendly, everyone knows each other and there is no drama lol. Victoria is cook at the bar and grill in town and I'm just getting used to everything. Not sure yet what I'm gonna do but she's got the bills covered so I can pretty much do anything... Maybe I'll fly out to TN and guido can land me a seasonal job in exchange for a trip to the Rockies lol.

@acolyte.... yeah man it wasn't this bad the entire time ive been here but as soon as I'd reach a certain wage and on a pattern etc... the company switches management and I got lagged behind... i'd get there again after years of work and bam... another regime. In the almost 30 years I've been there the management has changed 5 times ....this current one being THE WORST. I've got till Wednesday the 28th of this month and I'm outta there!!
To make it worse,the shot peen wheelabrator machine is so old and beat up,it leaks shot underneath the manual peen cabinet up to your knees... holes throughout that leak,this is like from the 70's... P.C.C. is a multi billion dollar corporation that owns 125 companys yet they cant buy a pocket change brand new $800,000 dollar wheelabrator .Sad... especially the fact it would pay for itself after 2 years.
Im so fucking sick of dealing with thier stupid asses I just can't wait to put in my 2 weeks notice... next Tuesday I put it in😁👍🤘🎸

Been at my company in September it'll be 30 years ! Well ....Im moving to Colorado September 14th ! Victoria's home land .... her brother Darrell and his wife live in a big 2 story house and both work and make lots of money.... they have a small 2 bedroom one bath on an acre of land behind it... his kids lived there but now have a house of thier own...
He doesnt want to rent to strangers even though he could get a nice rent payment a month extra... So Victoria is there now...
The rent,water,sewer and garbage combined is get this: $290.00 bucks a month Then just electricity.... Victoria is working at Ace Hardware right now making all the payments herself... So im leaving the Aerospace industry and finding something I want to do for the next 13 years till Im 62 elegible for retirement....
Im going to pay our rent 9 months in advance and Victoria will pay the electricity and our phones,my car insurance.... im taking October,November and December off to soak up my new environment...

Acolyte- caught the show June 16th in kelowna all I can say is WOW! Between the set list, the onstage presence the show on the big screen and Rob's Voice!!!!!!!!! It was incredible!!! One of the best I have seen, had tix on the floor "second" section turns out the were only about 80 feet away from the stage!!!fantastic, still rushed the stage like a young feller and made it to about the 6th row, however i was waiting for xrays back on my knee to see what up(bad motorcycle accident 30 years ago) and sure enough it went out!(turns out my MCL is gone with arthritis and bone spurs) My buddy who flew in to watch with me said I was there 1 minute on the floor the next, and when it went out left side tried to save it so ended up wrenching that side so, watched unable to stand leaning to the right! Still a great show!!!!! \m/\m/

Guys Judas Priest at the Showare Center Friday night was spectacular!!!! Necromancer opened and even Out In The Cold felt at ease ... Take These Chains was awsome! Sure its Andy up there,no Glenn as we all knew he's in England writing riffs etc... its not Priest without KK and Glenn? Ok but thier not claiming to be something thier not,its a cellebration of the spirit of Judas Priest in my eyes and ears.
Studio wise its definitely Judas Priest because Glenn is all over the album,and will be on the next album too... but god damn Rob.... he's incredible!! Ritchie is such a fucking monster soloist Id go as far as saying he's long surpased Randy Rhoads to start with and the list goes on... its incredible especially live!
Loved the set list and the place was packed. Just so lucky to still be able to see the band live thanks to Andy! I know Andy can't possibly keep this gig being a producer but he sure is great live hail to Andy!!

A sad day in the underground world of the god damn BEST rock band ever MOLLY HATCHET lead vocalist PHIL MCCORMACK had died at the age of 58,speculation a heart attack.
I believe this is the 8th Molly Hatchet member to pass away in thier history if I'm correct. Phil was the 3rd vocalist for Molly Hatchet and was an excellent song writter. He took over for Danny Joe Brown in 1996 ... 23 years. Rest in peace Phil Molly Hatchet fans all over the world mourn today.

2 albums to not listen to are 1984 "Deed Is Done" as it is simply not MH but the producers pop attempt at hair rock. Not thier sound and it's terrible like Turbo but worse. 2010's Justice album is dull material that would fit on b sides. Any other MH albums are superb.
The 5 albums most dont know exists are 1989 - Lightning Strikes Twice, 1996 - Devil's Canyon, 1998 - Silent Reign Of Heroes Kingdom of XII -2000 and Warriors Of The Rainbow Bridge - 2005 excellent .... wish they would release a new album.

Cool, though. Yeah, sorry, man. Not a fan of this song. The vocals just don't do it for me. The mandolin is nice, but the two Robert Plants vocalizing against each other just throws me off. I've had a chance to listen to the album a couple of more times during the weekend, and I'm liking it more, apart from Evermore. I can understand how you might not listen to the other songs anymore, though. After all, they only play Stairway to Heaven everyday on the radio. Prolly every hour. Heh.

But my favorite non metal band I have albums of since I was a kid and have them on CD for years is southern rock legends "Molly Hatchet". I was grown up on Molly Hatchet along with Judas Priest and my favorite other bands . Well, alright. I'll answer. If we are to go by album purchases, my favorite non-metal band would be...the Scorpions. They're cool. Would love to get some more of their 70s albums. I also like Joe Satriani. Fleetwood Mac are in there, too. I like most classic rock, really. Also like classical music, jazz, and Mexican music when I'm in the mood.

Yeah man Sony Michelle the rooky RB got the games only TD,a real defensive beat down 3-3 late going into the 4th. I haven't seen a defense shut down New England's offense THAT well for THAT long in a playoff game in a long time so A+ for the Ram's defense for sure man.
But the Ram's offense with Jered Goff really got overwhelmed and out coached.It's just amazing what Donte Scarnecchia the old offensive line coach has achieved all this time with so many different offensive lineman to protect Tom Brady,and the players executing thier play on the field. It's something that gets overlooked. And Belichick is a GENIOUS man it's incredible,then Tom... 6 Rings... Josh McDaniels offensive coordinator also excellent working with Brady.
