I agree Deep Freeze. Time and age can change a vocalists voice, and if the style does damage to the cords that will change it as well.
That's why many vocalists have little "tricks" to help, like hot water with lemon, or tea with honey. And if you want to keep your voice you must excercise it, like everything else, or lose it.
I have what they call "singers nodules". Julie Andrews had them, she also had a bad surgeon who bothched the job!
