Yeah Necro, those memories are very special. There are songs that really bring home the holidays for me and with the internet, I can youtube ANY song I want and listen so I need not go buy CDs and whatnot that will only be used for a short time. I usually set up the speakers I have and just youtube requests from my family throughout the day. Makes hearing the special songs SO easy! I also listened to We Three Kings and Get Into the Spirit. They are OK by me. I enjoy just about anything Rob does. Having said that, I am also a HUGE fan of traditional Christmas music. There is a reason it remains so popular. For me, it reminds me of younger days. Family together for the holidays. Members of the family that have long since passed. The excitement and wonder of Christmas morning as a young boy.
There are memories that the holidays bring. Memories of a far different time. The old classics like White Christmas (Crosby) and Oh Holy Night (Goulet) will always be very special to me and will always be playing in my house in December. I cannot imagine a holiday season without them! I think it is great that Rob decide to do something like this...He thinks "outside the box", as it were. I will certainly enjoy his offering but the chances of his version playing on Christmas morning are rather remote, if only that the rest of the family would likely not enjoy it. Besides, they hear me doing music EVERYDAY. HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor folks, they need a little break.
