Mr. Diamond,
I have to respectfully disagree with you on the point of JP/Halford selling out on the select cd you listed with the exception of TURBO. IMO there's difference between selling out (for commcercial success) and exploring other musical avenues for personal gratification. In '86 if you remember MCrue, Poison, Ratt and other were all the "glam metal" and selling lots of records,lots of airplay...and JP tried to walk that line with the Turbo and their costumes to be more 'radio' friendly and be a jp version of the glam bands...This for me was selling out for $$$
The other times with JP and Halford I feel they/he was just exploring other musical interests/directions and not necessarily for commercial value as personal.. Rob has plenty of money, so like he said "I always wanted to make a christmas cd" . Many artist do Christmas cds mostly because of their own fond memories of the past and nothing more.....Rob's not following a commercail trend so to speak and in the vain I support anyone who has the ability and money to pursue their deisres even for little monetary gain...
